How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe accommodation right next to the center surpassed my partial prejudices, despite the low-cost categorization. Quiet and mostly nature-oriented planting for the eyes, as well as for the stomach and tastes, but also a great panoramic view from the height of the local 20-storey tower and excellent transport accessibility a few minutes from the historical center of the city. Positive-looking experienced staff and cleanliness or style everywhere. Safe parking in front of the building also deserves praise, and if you are lucky and arrive naturally and at the agreed time - it is also included in the price.
Nothing negative worth mentioning.

The apartment has a unique and tasteful design, and everything we needed was right at hand. Thank you for the hospitality — we felt comfortable and at ease.

BRIEF ANSWER OF THE HEAD OF THE DOMINANT STUDIO BRATISLAVA RECEPTION OFFICE: 1. DOMINANT STUDIO is registered as a "linen apartment mini-hostel" - which is several "separate accommodation spaces" in a large apartment house and with two restaurants and a beer pub, with a supermarket and other services. We have a sophisticated "System in rooms with bunk beds" and private toilets and beautiful terraces with a panorama of the surroundings, you don't have to question it, it's really great in its top budget class. 2. Unfortunately - on this site, we cannot present the details of the problems caused by you, believe me, it is really extremely ugly behavior of the guests!!! !!! The main point: WE HAVE A REALLY HARD HEART FOR YOU BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T RETURNED US THE BORROWED KEYS - FROM OUR ONE ACCOMMODATION CELL - WHICH COST US FOR A PROFESSIONAL LOCK CHANGE - ADDITIONALLY MORE THAN 100 EUR, (direct damage caused by your irresponsible actions) WHICH YOU STILL HAVE NOT REIMBURSED US - and according to your reactions, you won't even pay!!!! We will definitely remember you and your female friend - as a really very unpleasant and very PROBLEM client, after how speculatively and unethically you BEHAVED TO US!!! Definitely more harm than good!!! Maybe you were one of the worst clients of all time - trust us - we don't wish the same on anyone!!!

the unpleasant demeanor of the host. Despite having paid for the property in advance and requesting a receipt, the host failed to provide one. When I asked again during my stay, he accused me of not paying at all, conveniently dismissing my request for proof. This lack of professionalism and trust was disconcerting. Adding to the discomfort, the host's office was located right beside our room, and there seemed to be a window or one-sided mirror that provided him a view of our balcony. This invasion of privacy was deeply unsettling, and I often found myself questioning whether my personal space was being compromised. This feeling reached its peak when I woke up one morning to find the host standing in our room without any prior permission or notice. It was an unacceptable breach of boundaries and made me question the security and safety of the accommodation.

The situation - one member of your group let us into the room to teach us how to fix the problems that you did out of ignorance (instead of external and internal blinds, you almost destroyed the expensive special projection screen used for business clients such as a home cinema). You didn't even apologize to us for that. 2. I honestly think that you don't speak English really well, and many misunderstandings stem from that. We truly believe that everything can be explained and understood calmly and nicely - and with thought. The issue of payment from your side: just present proof of payment - and that's all, and there were really problems with that on your side, remember well how it was. Otherwise, except for a couple of excesses - you were a nice and nice group of young guests with whom there were no problems. Except for those that arose from various preconceptions and information noise. And your general BUBUBU between the written lines - it is very biased - actually to be at least a bit of a warning sign!!!
