How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewBeautiful historic villa, lovely spacious suite with views over the lake. Wonderful breakfast included, and excellent dinner at the restaurant ( we ate there twice). Private swimming area in the lake was a bonus. Beautiful grounds

Verified reviewA serene environment. Restaurant superb, boat house and lakeside pool fantastic, staff incredibly friendly and accomodating and spa room and treatments were excellent. Petra gave me the best massage I have ever had.
The decor was a little tired in the rooms.

Verified reviewLocation and history of the building make it an amazing destination. Historical architecture and design are a treat for history buffs while the lake beach and views are exceptional
Bathroom and some decorations could do with a refresh (while Keeping the historical feel)

Verified reviewNice rooms, great breakfast, very pleasant and courteous staff throughout, very private and secure.
Not air conditioned (would expect for hotel like this). Not clearly disclosed that hotel was the former summer residence of Tito. The excessive Tito artifacts in the hotel were discomforting.

About an hours walk to the castle but we thought this side was way better with lovely walk round the lake and good restaurants

Verified reviewIt is an amazing place! The property is stunning! It had belonged to the royal family and later to the former president so it is very charming (and imponent) to stay there. The room was almost one apartment, the views were unbelievable- it seemed we qere on a fairy tale. The lack of air conditioning wasn’t a problem, the room had 3 fans and usually was fresh enough. The hotel has privet boats wich were tge best way to go to the main island, and to row arround the lake without a crowd, a very exclusive experience. They also have a privet beach place with a good structure and the BEST staff there- a big thank you to JAKA, who didn’t measure effort to make us feeling comfortable, gave us the best tips and was super friendly and attentive to our baby :)
The breakfast wasn’t the best, and the breakfast service was very poor, it didn’t look like we were in that beautiful hotel. They didn’t clean the tables, when we ordered something from the kitchen they sometimes said it wasnt allowed for exemple, to bring scrumbled eggs, and the coffee was COLD, everyday :/ disappointing for this hotel. 3 stars hotel has better breakfast and service. I wish they can fix this, then I’ll be able to return

Verified reviewExcellent location and full of history and character. The staff were helpful and friendly. We ate in the restaurant which was on the expensive side but delicious and a wonderful view from the terrace.
The room was a little tired and there was a drain smell in the bathroom but perhaps to be expected due to the age of the building

Verified reviewIt is magnificent in its location and history. The room was enormous.
Having booked dinner at 8pm I called to say we were delayed by traffic to be told 8pm was the latest booking the kitchen would accept. This morning we had a spa booking - yesterday we were told there was a water test but that should be done by our slot - and when we arrived at the spa it was closed.

Verified reviewThe location is superb with views over Lake Bled from every dining table. If you enjoy a sense of place with history built in - with mid 20th century glamour barely restrained by socialist aesthetic then you won’t mind the lack of a few mod cons. Super spacious rooms - red carpet marble staircase , genteel service and private lakeside loungers with a boat thrown in. And a super charming and helpful lifeguard. A blast from the past with unparalleled views. Highly recommend
It needs a little sprucing up here and there. We had 20th century air con - giant ceiling fans which kept the main room in our apartment cool but it could be a little stuffy. Nevertheless an extra fan was provided and it was 31 degrees when we were staying . It didn’t mar our stay at all but something to consider for guests who require modern air conditioning

It’s an incredible building and ground, but a bit dated. Showers are not to modern standards

Verified reviewI loved the historic nature of the hotel, and the fact that the rooms still reflected its original role as the home of Marshal Tito, the former Communist leader of Yugoslavia. The restaurant was also very good.

Verified reviewBeautiful location. The breakfast was excellent.
We had a suite. The sitting room was lovely although a bit jaded. The bedroom was very cramped. The bathroom was clean but very tired with ill matching tiles, leaking shower door. Not what we would have expected given it is a 4 star hotel. There was no atmosphere in the bar or the restaurant.

Verified reviewSuper location with great views from the terrace. Lovely staff. Was great to have the boating and swimming facilities on the lake.
The rooms wasn't cleaned ( dirty underwear left behind the extra bed put in the room) and also there was no Air conditioning ( something I missed to check when booking) . Dates room and furniture. Had to walk along an unlit corridor to get to the room passing used plates and cutlery left on the side of the corridor. If visiting like bled again, we will look for an alternative hotel
