Reviews of Turistična kmetija Sirk

We were looking for a spot to rest along our way back up north from holidays in Croatia. There were several places we considered, this one was chosen due to very high rating and late check-in hours. The place was more or less fine, but we would not stop there again. The hosts were welcoming, but there were couple of things that I will list in the negatives section, which make us not keen to return there again.

1. Description claimed that the spot is in a quiet location with great views. Sort of. There is a nice view to one side, but the other side is a thriving farm with LOTS of cows. For some reason the cows mooed all night long and continued mooing in the morning. The windows had to stay closed, otherwise it would be difficult to sleep. On the plus side, with the windows closed, the mooing was greatly silenced. 2. Due to having windows closed we had to use the AC. Unfortunately in the room we occupied the AC has no gravitational drain for the condensate, instead there is a pump which gets activated periodically. There are two issues with it. It is quite loud and wakes you up. It is also not working correctly, because at some point water started to run on the wall behind the AC, clearly coming from the AC. 3. There's supposed to be a fully equipped kitchen for guests. There is only a microwave and you have to unplug the kettle to use the microwave. There were no utensils, we had to ask for them. 4. Upon check-in we were asked to hand over our passports, which were taken by the person greeting us and our data was transferred to some application on a pad. Maybe it's some Slovenian regulation, but we haven't had this happen to us in a while. 5. When we informed the hosts that we do not intend to buy dinner, breakfast or lunch, just use the kitchen for guests, we were informed that there is an additional "registration fee" that has to be paid when passports are added to the "registration app". We were told that the fees already paid through Booking.com were for local income and environment taxes, but this is something separate. We were asked to pay additional 3 euro per person. This was only mentioned after we refused offer to buy breakfast at the establishment. It seemed to us, that if we agreed to buy breakfast, the fee would be waived. Not sure about this. It was very strange.

Great breakfast, great hosts - nice room everything perfect

We were truly impressed by the hospitality of the hosts! Such warm, open, and kind people — it was a real pleasure to interact with them. A lovely surprise was the small welcome gifts for guests, which made us feel genuinely cared for. The atmosphere felt more like visiting good friends than just staying somewhere. Thank you sincerely for your warmth and kindness!

everything was absolutely delicious. Upon arrival we were offered free house wine as a welcome drink. rooms clean and adequate. we were also offered breakfast and dinner - both were absolutely brilliant, all made from home-made ingredients and at a reasonable price. pumpkin oil on vegetables was absolutely perfect.

Smell from cow ferm, which is very close.

A big ten for the accommodation. Beautiful nature, neat and spacious room and bathroom, comfortable beds. If we add the extremely friendly owners of the accommodation, a stay in this accommodation is really recommended.

Very nice location in a small farm, very kind hosts - we arrived late and the owner did wait for us and offered a glass of wine! Very nice breakfast with home made jams, cheese and pastries. Very clean and comfortable rooms with common kitchen.

Very lovely and helpful owners.They waited for us until 23:30 with delicious hot foods. All products were home made. All the rooms were tidy and clean. You can also buy some of their homemade products. We really recommend it and if it's possible we will return there in the future

The breakfast is just outstanding!!! Fresh, home-made products: hams, sausages, pate, chees, jams, milk, home-baked bread. One of the most healthy and good-tasting breakfast I could imagine. The owners are very friendly. They are great, hard-working people who care for their guests all day round. Guests are welcome with a glass of home-made wine, which is excellent, and you have an option to buy it. The rooms and bathrooms are very nice, very clean, there is a tourist kitchen too where you can prepare your evening or morning meal if you wish. The place is beautiful and it is connected with a farm, which adds a rural spirit to the place. The village of Zgornja Velka has also a beutifull church of Our Lady of Snow, the landsape is very green with splendid views all around.

The AC made a terrible noise a few times in the evening even when it was turned off. Luckily it didn't last long.
