How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewWe spent a fantastic 12 days at this hotel and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The staff were exceptionally kind and attentive – always ready to help with a smile and the reassuring words: “We’ll take care of it, you just relax, you’re on holiday.” Breakfast was varied and delicious, the view amazing, the pools were spotless, and the hotel’s private beach area (included in the price) made it even more enjoyable. The overall atmosphere was very pleasant, and with a wide selection of restaurants nearby, it was the perfect place for a relaxing vacation. We would gladly return!

At checkin, the front desk told me I can't have the booked queen size bed because I was traveling with my husband, and they told me they can't put two men in one queen sized bed. After much discussion back and forth, they were willing to offer a room with queen sized bed, but now the room was on the first floor, facing the backside of a hill, no view of the ocean (which we booked). Then, we wanted to use the spa facilities, which they so grandiosely promoted on their site and in the hotel description at the time of booking, but then the facilities were closed on the one day we were there. No compensation or explanation was offered. We instead had to go to the public beach in the public section. And then, they never disclosed we had to pay for parking. We don't mind paying, but there needs to be transparency, and not a surprise fee at the time of checkout without prior disclosure.

Verified reviewStaff is very kind and helpful, a perfect 10! Hotel is well organized; pick up services run smoothly, and all requests are managed in a timely manner. Rooms are clean, spacious and well maintained. Loved the breakfast, great selection suitable for all diets.
SPA facilities are shared among multiple hotels from the same hotel chain and not at the same level of excellence as the hotel itself. Also, I would prefer to have larger soap and shampoo containers in my hotel room, small ones are quite inconvenient.

Verified reviewThe breakfast room is light and airy. Despite a full hotel you didn't feel rushed or crowded at any of the many breakfast buffet tables offering very high quality food and ample healthy options. Our room had a separate WC with own sink, very practical. The location is unsurpassed - shopping and the best bars (Mignon) and restaurants (the hotel's Istrian Bistro) are only minutes away on foot.
The coffee machines in the breakfast room don't always make good coffee.

Facilities outdated, carpeting and couch in room were stained. We’re supposed to have a signed in our living area for daughter to sleep on, but only had a couch.

Wellness hotel but pools are CLOSED. They told us one should be open so we went and could not get in, they blamed the card isnt working. Poor food choice for room service, only 2 things so if you have food restrictions dont count on it, they said everything is precut and prepacked so they cannot make any changes. We were hungry after a long day and nothing else was working so we said to bring it anyways and we take out what we dont like, food came cold and a dish was missing. Vegan milk on breakfast was old (literally separated in the glass) The hotel is nice but DEFINITELY not 5 stars.

Verified reviewVery nice hotel on the promenade in the town center. Very polite, efficient and helpful staff. Mateja was particularly great in his manners and presence! Spacious room, comfortable bad, excellent quiet air conditioning. Very nice bathroom. Coffee facilities in the room. Excellent breakfast. Very nice part of the beach for hotel guests. Valet parking for hotel guests.
Everything was great. The only minor issue is that the beach was open till 19h which we thought was too early on very warm longest days of the year (late June, beginning of July).
