How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The apartment was very clean and well organized, with friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was good and the location is excellent. The room is rather small, so it’s more suitable for a short stay of one or two nights.

1. the room size-too small 2. the location is great in terms of distance from the beach and restaurant's but you have to go down in a sharp slope for reaching the beach and to climb up for about 300 m' on the way back to the hotel
the hospitalization was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good, the location was very good and overall we enjoyed Portoroz a lot

A little more sound proofing (the door), especially those leading to the hallways would be great.
The location and the apartment hosts are great. Breakfast is wonderful and the parking is very accessible. Rooms are nice, clean and the check-in/check-out process is simple.

It was very clean and comfortable. Ac worked really well. Check in was easy with the automated machine. Breakfast was really excellent. Location super close to the beach. A bit further to the old town but totally walkable. The shower was great.

Very good location. A little bit uphill from the beach, but not far away. Excellent breakfast. Parking available in front of the building. Very pleasant staff. Wifi free of charged and worked fine. We didn't need air conditioning but it was available also.

Nothing I didn't like but just a comment. The room was a bit small for 2, but as a single traveller, it was ok. If you have mobility issues, you have to climb flights of stairs to reach the room & since the premises are located on a hill, it's a very steep walk back up. Neither of these was an issue for me, though.
Hostess was very friendly & helpful and always greeted you with a smile. We'll located. Good breakfast with coffee made according to your preferences instead of a coffee machine. Very clean. Parking available on premises. Everything was new.

The property is not a classic hotel but a guest house. So it is relatively simple accommodation
The room I was given had a partial sea view. It has been recently renovated with new furniture and new mattresses. The breakfast was really nice with 3 hot meals: scrambled eggs, pastries and pancakes. The special thanks is for free parking

The hotel has a free parking and is close to the sea. I liked the breakfast, but it didn't have anything hot, but there was a microwave. The tea and coffee were great. I really didn't like that they don't accept EU ID cards for the check in and ask for the passport. All the other hotels in Europe - Spain, Poland, Greece, Denmark, Belgium and many others) accepted exactly the same ID cards for the check in, so I don't know what happened in this one that they don't accept it

Heating is not one of the best features in cold days.
Excellent location, great staff, loved the breakfast. The option of having a parking space in the centre of Portoroz is gold!
