How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe Hostel was close to an Event Location, which was the Reason for my Visit. You have Restaurants, a Supermarket, Bakery and Bus Stop Close by. Its a good cheap accommodation Option if you dont mind sharing a Room, its nit big but sufficient

Verified reviewExtremely clean and quiet hostel! Just a short bus ride from the city center and next to a grocery store and some restaurants and cafes. AC in rooms was great. Highly recommend!

Verified reviewI liked the fact that it was a bit smaller than some hostels and the people were very friendly. I especially liked the approach of the owner, who was super helpful and had no problem with helping me when I needed a place to leave my bags during the last day until my bus was leaving.
The only thing is that it is a bit further from the city center, but when you take the city bike it is about 15 minutes to the main bus station, so it’s perfectly fine :)

Verified reviewVery clean, well-equipped kitchen, good wifi, nice staff :)
The location is a bit far away from the city centre for a small city such as Ljublana, but doable by bus or by walking around 30 mins on foot. Also, no common area outside of the small kitchen, which makes it more difficult to meet people. Still good value for money, recommended :)

Verified reviewAll corners were clean, including the toilet, the separate shower room, and the kitchen. Bus stops in front of the building. A supermarket and some restaurants in the vicinity, so even if not in the city center, you will not have troubles finding something to eat.
The rate could be lower. Other than that, this hostel is perfect.

Verified reviewThe staff was absolutely friendly. They even gave me a private room so I could enjoy the whole space to myself, even though I had booked a shared dormitory. Thanks to that, I really had a good night's sleep. Also, since I had an early flight, I was able to check out simply by dropping the key into a box, which was really convenient.

Verified reviewGood hostel not far from the city centre. Around 30 minutes walking or use a local bus service, around 10 minutes. Bus doesn’t work during the night. There are also bicycles or scooters for rent in the city, that can be used. Room was clean, comfortable bed and pillow. Separate showers.

Verified reviewDennis runs the Hostel and possibly the owner. The place is spotlessly clean and he is ingratiating and very helpful with any questions you have.

Verified reviewMy five-days stay here was very comfortable and enjoyable. The toilets, rooms, and kitchen were very clean, and the hostel owner was very friendly and helpful.
When returning to the hostel late at night, the lighting in the entrance is a bit dim. It could be brighter. There's no elevator; there are stairs leading to the rooms, which can be quite challenging for those carrying heavy luggage.

Verified reviewSurprisingly friendly guidance and service! The pleasant and cleanly maintained facilities made a really good impression on me. Thanks to this, I was able to relax the most comfortably among the accommodations in Slovenia that I stayed on this trip. Thanks to my easy-to-understand explanation, I checked in easily. If I come next time, I would like to stay here.

Verified reviewExcellent, the rooms are big and well equiped, beds are comfortable. The furnitures look new. The staff answered my messages quickly and was very kind letting me leave my luggage in the common area until late night
A bit far from the city centre, but you know that when you reserve. I missed curtains in the beds to gain privacy

Verified reviewGreat value. Next to bus stop. Dennis, the manager, is amazing, super helpful and kind. Called me a taxi; I checked in super late; kept my luggage. All made it worth staying here.
A bit out of main town but there’s a bus station just outside.

Verified reviewAmazing manager.
Main road directly outside made for a noisy night when we had to leave the window open because of the heat :(

Verified reviewIt was surprisingly clean compared to other hostels we have stayed in. It was fine for a short stay but it is very small with no common areas to hang out or relax in. Although there is a bus to take into town, it is pretty far from the old town if you prefer to walk.
The bunks have no privacy screen or curtain. The AC in the room would technically turn on but there was no cold air so it was very hot and forced you to open a window which made it really loud because the property is located on a busy main street.
