How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe location was fantastic! It was right across the lake. Our room was clean. The staff were all very nice. They allowed us to store our lake gear in their locked outdoor storage at the hotel. Most of the restaurants are walkable. We had a lake view from our balcony.

Verified reviewThe location was exceptional, close to the lake (1 min walk). The staff was very welcoming and allowed us to leave the lugagge and park the car before we checked in. The room was big enough, clean and with views to the lake. We enjoyed the balcony with the views in the evening. Parking with big places.
There is no AC, but if you open the window you get the fresh air in the evening. The problem is that, with the window open, you can hear the music and people speaking in the bars nearby. So, we had to shut it down to have some sleep.

Verified reviewThis accommodation is the sole lakeside option in Bohinj and fearures sideways views of it. It's clean, features crisp design, and is satisfactory enough. Bohinj itself of course is an outdoors lover's paradise.
Wish the information boards in the first floor hallway about plant and animal life in the lake also had an English translation. Dinner menu at the restaurant could be more wide-ranging (only a solitary veggie option during my stay).

The room we had was very dated. The furniture was very squeaky, the bathroom was from late 70's design, with an old bath tub. Wifi quality was quite poor (and this is quite important since also the data service from mobile operators in Slovenia, at least here in mountainour area, is not that great). The quality of the acommodation did not match the quite high price paid.

Verified reviewThe hotel has the best position in the village - close to the lake. We had a breathtaking view from our terrace. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, there is a parking available, bike storage, amazing food for breakfast and dinner. There are also shops and restaurants nearby. We will come back!

Verified reviewMy fourth visit to this hotel. Good breakfast as always, brilliant location and helpful and welcoming staff. Rooms are clean, the balconies are great and I love coming to stay here.
It can get a bit hot in the rooms in the summer heat, air conditioning would be an additional bonus. I also would like tea/coffee facilities in the room as these are currently missing.

Verified reviewVery central location near the Lake Bohinj. The hotel has private parking lot which was great because it's almost impossible to find a public parking in the area in the season. Everything was OK, nothing big to complaint.
The noise from the street in the evening and local bars makes you close the windows when you go to sleep...

Verified reviewThe location was good, very close to the lake and easy to get to local amenities. The shower was okay.
This is not a 4-star hotel. At best, it's a 3 star. The room was very dated, with no air conditioning, an overheating fridge which was empty, no tea and coffee making facilities and generally all very cheap, including towels and bathroom toiletries. The indoor pool was okay but wasn't open for most of the day. The gardens again, okay, but really not making the use of the space. The breakfast was awful. Poor selection, with underripe fruit, tastless fruit juices, warm plant based milks, and hard and over cooked eggs. The toaster was pointless and didn't toast. The coffee machine used cheap coffee, and the area was dark and quite dingy. The staff were pleasant enough, but that did not make up for the fact that this hotel needs a major refurb It was very disappointing, and we couldn't wait to leave.

The hotel lacks style, the room was ok but too simple. Breakfast was below the standard of a 4-star hotel. Finally, and the most importantly, the price - we stayed one night - was very, very high for a hotel of this level.
