Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe only downside would be the location, but depending on what one wants/expects, that can also be a good thing. It is a bit remote, so no other places to visit in the village, but if one wants nature, peace and quiet, then it is the perfect place for that.
The hosts are great! Very nice, friendly, accomodating. Quiet, cozy, and clean rooms, great homecooked food, and most importantly their own beer and wine, oh and we can't forget the apple juice! There are a lot of interesting things and sights to visit in the vicinity. Starting with the world famous Postojnska Jama, the Castle of village of Prem, or the Military Museum, with the accompanying Technincal Museum. And the Adriatic coast and Ljubljana not too far away, it is a positioned ideally as a base for all of these daily trips. All in all a place worth visiting.

United KingdomBeds were not the most comfy but still managed some pretty good nights sleep.
Host was great, very welcoming. We enjoyed the local food and not having to choose from a menu. Play equipment for children was great and you could see this from the restaurant. Room was spacious, shower very good. Home brewed beer and farm produce delicious.

RomaniaNot very tidy( there were notebooks and papers thrown randomly on a piece of furnuture as if someone was staying there. Some slippers, too) A piece of furniture fell off on my foot as I was trying to open a drawer for clothes. No liquid soap, just body wash, not enough towels.
It was located in a nice area with fresh air.

MaltaWhen we arrived there was a party at the restaurant at ground level. Noise was a huge disturbance both from room and the surrounding area around hotel. Later after hours of noise, was our turn to eat in restaurant. They had no option but just 1 choice, and it wasn't great at all. Apart from that during the night and morning, the place was very peaceful and charming near fields
Position of hotel was good. Bed comfortable. We were offered a complimentary drink

AustraliaNothing not to like once we accepted that we would have limited understanding of how things worked.
Hospitality was tremendous. Food and drinks exceptional. They have a very different way of doing things compared to what we are used to and we likely missed understanding some things due to language barriers (we only speak English and their English is limited) but we just went with the flow and had an enjoyable stay. Examples: Extra towels blankets etc were in the corridors not the room but we assumed we were to take what we needed. There is no choice of food from a menu. You get what you are given and it was delicious (We had one dinner and one breakfast). We had no idea of the price of extras until we were given a total value owed when leaving. Very reasonable prices since we didn't really know what we were paying for and what was provided free of charge. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.

NetherlandsAt the booking we made clear that we travelled with two big dogs. Unfortunatly there was no space for the dogs or their cages inside the room. It would have been nice if we were told that the rooms were this small (it would not have been a problem to pay more for an upgrade, but we thought the room was big enough).
The accomodation is located in a tiny village with a lot of green, mountains, fields and argiculture. The garden makes it an excellent place for people with pets or children. The owners do not speak German or English very well, but try their best to communicate. Eventually we figured everyting out! We had dinner and breakfast and it was AMAZING. Everyting is home made (cheese, butter, bread, beer etc.). Dinner is a dish of the day, but excellent everydat. The room was pretty small as well as the bathroom. It was very clean though. From the accomodation we travelled to the Postojn caves and the coast (Koper, Izola and Porto Rouge).

Czech RepublicIn the drawers of the dresser, we found a rather odd assortment of items – everything from socks to a battery charger for a lawnmower. At dinner, we weren’t given a menu, just a vague explanation in broken English about what was available, so the price of the meal remained a mystery. Unfortunately, the salad included a snail and a few spoiled leaves. Sleeping was quite a challenge – any movement on the bed caused incredibly loud creaking.

IsraelGreat hospitality. The hosts were very welcoming, and everything was made with a smile. The place is a farm, the kids enjoyed the playground and animals. The restaurant serves meals based on the farm products, including milk, meat, and eggs. Dinner was exceptional, including homemade ice cream.

GermanyWe loved everything!
In beautiful nature and landscape, the host received us like family. The room was very simple, yet we had everything. Even bigger surprise came in the morning. We wanted to have just coffee, but enjoyed the breakfast hall so much, and so long, that we ended up having breakfast out of delicious homegrown produce and homemade juice, bread, yoghurt. We loved sitting under the cooling shade of vine, and chatting with extremely kind host. The most incredible experience on this trip, and we want to enjoy the hospitality of The Janezinovi, and their fantastic food and atmosphere!
