How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The shower head of shower room number 2 needed to be maintained, water flow is weak.
Get off at bus stop number 10 (Lucia) if you go to the hostel by bus . The bus will stop at the opposite side of Hostel Soline. Free parking at the compound. The owner, Michael is friendly and helpful. Same bus stop (number 10) but at same side of the hostel will bring you to Piran at €1.30. The bus will stop outside Piran, it takes about 15 minutes walk to reach Tartini Square.

Everythink was really fine but unfortunately after we had arrived home both me and my friend got really sick. Both of us had serious stomach problem and we vometed as well. We suppose the problem could be the eggs during our last breakfast. We had the same ill and the egg was that food which both of us ate on that day.

Parking bit small but they squeezed cars in

There's no elevator. But there's only 1 floor, so not a problem. The twin beds have wooden frame. It is a bit not comfortable when we roll over and press the frame.
The room and beds are simple but ok. The location is really good and so the price reaches my expect. The staff are really nice and friendly.

The mattress was soft and the middle was already stretched out, so it was difficult for me to sleep sometimes.
The coast, beach, restaurants within a few hundred meters. The soundproofing of the windows is excellent, so the main road is not disturbing either. We also got a parking space, although the cars were quite close to each other, but this way we avoided the horrible parking fee - special thanks for that. The room was clean, the shared shower and toilet as well. The air conditioner in the room saved us from the heat at night. There was plenty of choice for the continental breakfast.

I came for an event in Park Sonce in Lucija and this was the perfect place to stay. Very near to the park and very easy to walk back to the hostel after the event.

Only thing I can complain was the mattress, which was ready for exchange.
Friendly and helpful staff. Nice location close to the center. Breakfast was great.

The girl at the reception did not provide all relevant information during check-in and seem uninterested throughout our stay. Bathrooms/toilets were poorly kept at times.
Location is superb, also nice that there is a terraced bar onsite.

noisy a bit, but it's a matter of the behavior of the other guests in the hotel.
A small hotel near the sea, the equipment is basic, but the rooms are air-conditioned and have their own sink. A big plus is a very good breakfast included in the price, in the cafeteria right in the hotel - salami, ham, cheese, fresh vegetables, fruit, eggs, yogurts, muesli, jam, croissants, coffee... The hotel also has a terrace for sitting. There are shops and a bus stop nearby.

No soap provided in the showers, only at the sinks. Bedding smelled musty, not fresh.

A nice hostel near the main road, but quiet, clean and very good breakfast for a hostel. Good value for money in Portorož. Recommended

Extremely friendly staff! On my departure day, they even let me leave my car there as long as I needed and allowed me to come back in the afternoon after diving to take a shower.

The location was great, at walking distance from the bus station (we arrived by bus), the beach, bars and restaurants. The room and other facilities were clean, it was quiet at night and the staff very friendly. Unfortunately, we missed the breafast, because we had to leave early the next morning. I will definitely keep this hostel in mind for the future and will recommend it to friends and family.

This is not a commentary just to be mean but if you have the opportunity to pay more for another hotel, do it. It was disgusting to even sleep on the bed. There was a lot, but a lot of spiders
