You have to remember this is hostel so you cannot have high expectations. We stayed in a room to ourselves with balcony and 3 beds. It was clean and comfortable. The rooms are old and the bathroom needs updating. But the location is fantastic, and the staff helpful.

Dated and run down. Bath and shower needs replacing.

Great location on lake Bohinj, very relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff.

Our room was dirty and there was offensive graffiti on the walls. The carpet looked like it had never encountered a hoover, the bath tub looked awful and there was no plug provided for the bath ( I asked for one but they couldn’t find one). There was mould on the walls.

Lovely location next to the lake, also about halfway through the lake so it's pretty close to go to both of ends. About 35min walk to the Vogel gondola and 20min to the east side of the lake. Staff was helpful. Room was nice even if it's a old building, had a small balcony as well which was nice, even if I didn't have a lot of time to use it. Simple breakfast was included as well. Bus stopped right outside.

No handsoap in toilet and shower could be a little bit fresher, but it was ok.

Location beats everything. We could use our paddles straight to the lake and swim.

You could at least renew shower curtain and bathroom tiles or do some renovation in bathroom (room is small but nice). Breakfast simple.

I am very glad that I booked this hostel for my stay. At first I was scared when I looked at the bad reviews. Yes it is a building that needs some renovation but it’s nothing absurd. I rarely write reviews like this one but I felt like I had to. The hostel is clean, there is no bad smell in the dorms like the reviews say. It’s good that it has some outdoors activities. I highly recommend renting a bike and doing a hike or a tour around the lake. The staff was very helpful with me - by advising the best buses I should take to my next destination. The room that I stayed in had an awesome view of the lake. Breakfast is simple but it’s good for the price. The restaurant they have serve good food for dinner at a fair price.

Only one bathroom per floor - I advise you to arrive a bit earlier to shower. You need to do your own bedding when you arrive.

It is a dormitory so, did not have high expectations…

Great atmosphere, local craft beers available. Also surprisingly quiet. Good connections to nature destinations. Breakfast is ok.

Needs face lift.

The breakfast was good, filling and enough food. I booked a single room and this was spacious enough for me, the bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. The location is very good for doing water activities. There is a restaurant at the hostel for dinner and lunch if needed.

It is not as convenient for completing other activities. The bus is often quite late and sometimes doesn't turn up, but the walk isn't too far into to town, only 20 minutes. If you want to walk around the lake, you need to leave the hostel to find the start, but it is not difficult.

The location is unbelievable, on to an almost private section of Lake Bohinj, and the views from the hostel are stunning. Also only 15-20 mins walk from other bars and restaurants and bus stops right outside - we got around the entire area very easily. The bar was nice and breakfast was a perfect start to the day. Hired kayak and paddle boards which were good value. In general an excellent and friendly atmosphere

The room was very small and quite hot which made organising things and sleeping difficult Could really do with a couple of additional bathrooms However we loved it and would stay here again if we were visiting Bohinj (which I highly recommend!)

Nothing, this place is truly awful. They abuse their geographical location. Run away.

Filthy, run down, outrageously expensive. Mould in the bathroom. Dirty carpet. Chipped bath, looked repainted with cheap paint that was peeling off and sticking to the feet. No shower curtain. Sink tap spraying water in all directions. Water gushing out when you flush the toilet. Broken tiles. Really bad stench everywhere. Mattresses utterly uncomfortable. The "restaurant" is a mockery: 4.5 euros for hot water poured over half a handful of some gooey tasteless white pieces - disgusting! They called it "soup of the day ".

Location, location, location!! The staff were also very helpful and the breakfast was generous.

We had a family room of 4 with a sink but had to use shared toilet/ shower. Only one toilet and shower on the first floor for each sex. Female shower had to be hand held. No self catering facilities considering it is a hostel.

Sports equipment rental service (bike, canoe,...)

Loved the access to the lake and the easy renting of kayaks/canoes until 8pm.

It is probably the accommodation with the best location in Lake Bohinj. The view and lake access and activity options are great. Which is a shame, because I wouldn't stay there again.

The restaurant menu was extremely limited and strange. Giant pizza board in pub area, but staff was very rude and defensive when we asked if they had pizza. However, the biggest problem was the room, the terrible plywood bunk beds that creaked if someone moved and didn't even seem sturdy enough for a 10 year old. The walls had not been painted since 2011. What Im sure they want to seem charming is just old and tired.

Despite a little confusion caused my myself the hostel staff showed remarkable kindness and attention. The restaurant team was also very friendly and helpful, one lovely lady even reheated our family meal for us. Breakfasts offered unlimited hot and cold drinks, plus fresh spring water to refill bottles. The place has a real mountain lodge atmosphere, with plenty of outdoor activities and sport equipment for rent. Rooms on the fourth floor come with a private bathroom.
