How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The women was rude. Its a normal house where the owners live in one room and rent out the others. One bathroom for 4 rooms + owners

Verified reviewTbh...I didn't like anything about how the lamdlady reacted to my small sleepy french bulldog. Especially after she hid the fact that no dogs where bad. After I had reservered the room....she overteacted and charged an extra 220 euros for my little baby.I latet read in the fine print! To cut things short.....she hates people.and dogs.....made us také pictures of things that we might damage! I felt like a teenager that couldn't touch anything and couldn't ho to the toilet after 11pm ! It was a nightmare! We couldn't even ecperiance the beautiful town when our landlady locked us out after 11pm! When we came home at 11 exactly and we were afraid to make a sound,;even to go to the toilet As she has called the police before againest other ⁵people! Not to mention she decided to start renovating the only bathroom at 11pm that night day...and was angry if you inturupeted! Also this woman advises you! Food parking sight tol! Anything! She will only direct you to the most expensive and worst areas! How is this good? She directed us to a carpark where you pay 8 euro a day ...(appearantly the cheapest) how ablut the one thats directly across for free? Please if you do love up at this witches lair...I hope you survive....otherwise please také everything she says and ignore it! She was and is absoulutely the worst place i have ever stayed! In my life! And I have stayed in many places! Amd never thought it was worth mentioning ..but something this bad ..please avoid this place! Unless you Want your trip to be ruined! ⅖
I hated everthing! And would like to recieve compensation for the terrible experiance!? Will that happen? This woman ruineef our trip!?

Verified reviewThe location of the place is great as it is very central and close to the sea. The place is also clean.
There were about 14 people and only one shared bathroom. Besides the rooms are very small and there is no storage for the luggage or any closet. We had to keep everything in the suitcases on the floor. The matresses on tje beds are very, very soft. Very uncomfortable for people who like firm matresses. Wi fi is not working most of the time. As our friends were staying in another place they were not allowed to visit us- very strange rule of the owner. For this price we expected better quality.

Verified reviewThe room was very spacious, exceptional clean and well equipped (aircon, fridge, hangers for clothing, small table). The guest house is located very centrally with <5min walk to centre. Public parking is close by. The shared bathroom is very modern and was exceptional clean! Bike and SUP rental is possible on site. The appartment has a very beautiful terrace with lots of green abs shade. The host was very welcoming and communicative.

Verified reviewGood centrical location, spatious room, small terrace in front of the house. Fridge in the room.
Place could be a great budget accommodation, but lack of attention to the customer's need ruin the experience. 1. Asked for direction to the parking lot, was told an unhelpful "200 Mt from the house", had to go there to find out where it was (after I had already found free parking - mind this, it's basically impossible stopping in front of the house even shortly, as the street is very narrow and parking is forbidden 2. Was asked both documents for check-in the second I arrived or I wouldn't get the keys, with just one... Thankfully I had a picture of both, but my request to possibly send one afterwards via mobile phone was denied (let's not forget we were not told where the parking was, so likely one would have to mind the car), data on the documents was copied manually from the docs instead of being photographed or copied, to then have to wait there another 10 minutes to receive an invoice I didn't need and that could simply have been slipped under the door of our room. If it's so important to have both documents immediately, you can simply ask the guest to send the docs via WhatsApp or email if possible, and have the invoice pre-made.... 3. Room has space for 4, and no plug next to any bed to charge the phone. Not a big deal, but it's not really in line with contemporary age. There was a multiple plug to charge next to the fridge, but in a very uncomfortable location. 4. Most incredible thing. There were NO BEDSHEETS. Bottom sheet was an uncomfortable mattress cover, very itchy, top was the blanket a million other people used... Super anti-hygienic. There were in a side 2 sheets, but they were single for a double bed and they were duvet covers with a zip, again super uncomfortable
Hello! You came to our Guest House on foot without a car. You said that your car is already parked and you do not need another parking lot. You voluntarily carried your bags from the parking lot where your car was located. There is always a temporary parking space in front of our Guest House. Move-in without personal documents is prohibited. You were under the influence of alcohol, so it was wrong to let you into the Guest House without documents. Registration and issuance of an invoice took no more than 5 minutes. The socket is located next to the bed. You didn't find the socket. No one has used blanket sheets before you. Perhaps, in your condition, it seemed to you that a million people had used the blanket before you. Best regards, Guest House Izola.

Verified reviewThe apartments are located in the down town and it takes probably 5 min to reach the beach. Very cosy atmosphere and pretty cool owners of the apartment. The conditioners in the rooms and a very nice terass.
The disadvantage might be a shared bathroom but since there are only a few rooms it did not borther me at all. The price was rather high but after some screening I realized that it was apparently one of the cheapest options.
