How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewAmazing location, friendly and helpful staff. Great food at the kitchen/restaurant. Buffet breakfast was good.
Nowhere inside to hang after about 10pm. Staff required us to go outside past this time. It was really cold outside at night even in summer. Advertised social/common space but this was not actually the case. My group of 3 was also split up despite being on the same booking. One of my friends was required to sleep beside 1 random person despite booking at 10+ person dorm. This was uncomfortable and seemed unnecessary (the dorm was only 1/2 full). My friends and I all did not have access to charge devices as there was only 5-6 outputs and other guests arrived before us. Guest kitchen or even fridge was necessary but not provided (there is no nearby shops and restaurant was not always open or open past 8pm - we were delayed arriving and it meant we couldn’t eat anything that night).

Verified reviewAmazing views, nice easy trails to do also with children and dogs.
The staff acted annoyed during the check-in time, because they were in a hurry for something else. My little child walked to the wrong direction, so I had to go after her and I actually got a comment for that. Excuse me, but my child comes first. If you don’t have time to do the full check-in, just tell us to wait a bit and come back when you’re not in such a hurry. For the rest of the time the staff was really nice though.

Verified reviewStaff are really helpful and super friendly people.
There could be more sinks to brush one's teeth and a small kitchenette for those who cannot afford the menu and have their own food.

Verified reviewIt is an amazing location in the mountains. Facilities are brand new, room is clean, comfortable. The shared parts (toilet, shower) are also very clean. The surrounding area is breathtaking.
The only comment I have is around parking. I appreciate it is operated by the local municipality/government, although it would be good if the guests could have like a card issued by the accomodation or a private area where they could park for free.

Verified reviewThis is the BEST mountain hut from our 5-day trip! I wish we could've stayed longer. The rooms, facilities, staff, and dining areas are spectacular. We especially loved the delicious food before trekking. The price is amazing for what you get. I can't recommend this place enough!

Verified review1. Location - there are a few hiking trails right at the hut door steps. 2. It’s very modern and clean. 3. Last day I walked down Adria Trail to Krajnska Gora which was nice alternative to infrequent and unreliable local public transport. 4. Very nice hutmates from all continents 5. Very nice staff ( if you are nice to them you can get extra shower tolken ;)
1. There are far too many beds in the dormitory. People stay usually one night there only ( they do hut to hut trekings). So they arrive late and leave early. 2 Those who stay longer get beds in the middle of the room for some reasons. Staying there 3 nights= 3 disturbed nights. 3. No access to the kitchen to make self made hot meal. Kitchen closed totally 4-6 pm and after 9 pm.

Thank you, Barry, for your review. It is our pleasure to have guests like you, and it is a privilege to live in the mountain hut in the middle of Triglav National Park. The mountain hut has stood in the same spot since 1901, and every day, it becomes increasingly complex to explain its true purpose: location, location, location. It is not a luxury but a mountain hut. It is essential to note that our mountain hut offers a unique experience, distinct from a hotel or a hostel, reflecting the traditional lifestyle of Slovenian mountaineers. Simplicity inside, luxury outside.

Verified reviewVery nice place, comfortable bed, and the food was good too.
The outdoor bicycle charging ports don’t work (I had to wait 3 hours for the owner to give the OK to the staff so they could lend me an extension cord), and the room has little ventilation for so many people.

Verified reviewErjavčeva mountain hut was the highlight of our trip in the Julian alps. First, the place is of absolutely unreal beauty. Secondly, the hut is well run, well organized, extremely clean and modern and managed by a fun team with a great sens of humour and genuine hospitality. The food is also the best food that we have had so far in Slovenia. The location, right by the bus stop and right beside the start of many excellent hiking trails make it the perfect place to stay for a hiking trip. we only wished we had stayed longer!
