How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The beds are not comfortable at all. If you stay several days then breakfast is very monotonous. Price/quality rather expensive.

Verified reviewMy partner and me were to the Chocolate Village for a weekend in August (Fri-Sun). It is so beautiful as in the pictures, it is quite even with families with kids and other couples. What did we like? 1. The breakfast is great, the products are from high quality and to take it outside in the balcony was really nice. 2. The silence and relaxed environment 3. The green area and the river 4. The personal is really nice and helpful 5. The room small but very cozy and beautiful, you have everything you need there. 6. The small pool for refreshing was top. 7. The restaurant just a few meters is a saver. 8. The bicycles we rent allowed us to make a great active morning through the forest, even when it was very hot we didn’t feel it there. For sure we will come back, next time with kids and in Autum.
The air condition was not working very good, it was very hot in August. We needed a little bit more power.

Curtains don’t shut completely dark- so for people who are sensitive to light in the morning I would recommend eye covers

Verified reviewWe spent two wonderful days at Chocolate Village. It's not a simple camping site: you spend the night in small architect-designed houses up in the trees. Breakfast is brought to your room in wooden boxes in the shape of a house, and the friendly lady at reception takes care of all your needs. You can even book a chocolate massage, which was really relaxing and completely new to me. There is a small wine cellar where you can organise wine tastings and next door you can have an excellent dinner in a cool designed restaurant. The pool is great for cooling off and fits in well with the rest of the resort. Recommendation!

Verified reviewWe had a wonderful stay here. The cozy wooden cabins are surprisingly modern, well-equipped, and spotlessly clean. The location is absolutely beautiful—right by a lake and surrounded by forest, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. There's even a small pool in the yard, which was a nice bonus. If you're looking for a nature-filled escape with great comfort, this is an excellent choice!

Verified reviewFantastic experience right on the banks of the Drava. Ask for one of the first row houses for the view! This was a two nights work trip to Maribor, this accomodation added so much fun to this trip.
I would not say it's 'luxury' however, as they like to state, much more like unique, extraordinary, but not luxurious. Also, for me, the whole chocolate theme do not add to the experience - the fantastic location and houses are enough by themselves.

Verified reviewPeaceful and relaxing with a restaurant and a bar nearby. Great breakfast (4 options, selectable one day in advance) delivered to your terrace (who knew I liked chocolate-infused cured meat). The pool is nice (unheated, but manageable on a sunny late-spring day) with a 40 meter stretch of perfectly cut lawn culminating with a fire pit (daily supply of wood and marshmallows near it). Separate Wellness area (80€\2h) is nice and comes prepared with tea, fruit, and chocolate 👌
Nothing to fault, except some spots of dust (behind the tv and upstairs) and a bit of bird poop on the deck chairs.

Verified reviewA truly unique experience outside of Maribor. The cabins were ultra modern without a wasted inch of space in them. We tried the chocolate and the fit/protein breakfast options, both were very good and more food than we could eat. It was great to have the breakfast waiting on our porch every morning, as much as possible was in reusable containers, love that there was minimal plastic waste. We both opted for massages (oil not chocolate) that were surprisingly reasonably priced. The onsite restaurant was delicious, and despite being a BBQ/steakhouse had plenty of options for my vegetarian travel companion.
The hot tub maxed out at 40, which in the outside temperatures during our stay made it feel like a warm tub. The interior of the cabins makes you forget that you are glamping, but the small hot water tanks bring you back to reality quickly. Would have appreciated any type of counter/shelf space in the bathroom.
