Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Belgiumneed to improvise soundproofing because can hear people waking on upper floor and hallway. could be better with iron in the rooms.
spacious room with pleasant scent and natural light, minibar with various options, comfortable beds with fresh linen, cleanliness with all amenities required, breakfast a la carte with good options, staff was very nice and they modified it for vegetarian option, secure private parking, impressed by check-in desk staff as they waited for us for late check-in and little welcome note in the room by hotel management.

United StatesAll around good experience - the staff was amazing (I don’t use this adjective often). Friendly, accommodating - „no problem“ were the words used and acted on.
Modern, elegantly appointed. Quiet. Located in embassy residence area - at the edge of the forest. The breakfast was delicious! And the associated restaurant truly deserves the accolades as best Balkan restaurant in Ljubljana.

CroatiaSomewhere in the middle of the night there there some music coming from outside. You couldn't really hear it as the room is almost soundproof but some of the lower frequencies and bass could be heard every so often. Thankfully, the music did not continue for long.
The room and the hotel was great! We actually booked the room on the wrong date - one day after than we wanted to stay at the hotel. We called the property directly and thankfully there was a room free. We were able to switch dates for a 20 EURO extra payment and everything was done in less than 10 min over the phone and booking.com application. The room was very clean, the bathroom was exceptional and the bed was very comfortable. The location is maybe the best thing - free parking during your stay with a 25-30 min walk to the centre - but through the beautiful park Tivoli. The hill Rožnik is just next the hotel and a park for children. The breakfast was also great - first time we stayed in a hotel with a la carte breakfast and we were not disappointed - we ordered avocado toast with an omelette on top - a big recommendation.

United KingdomNot only is this a beautifully designed hotel set on the edge of Tivoli Park, it is also a thoughtfully furnished hotel with the most comfortable mattresses, a pillow menu (!) and all sorts of little extras to delight the guests - and it’s also very good value for money. The à la carte breakfast was superb and a dinner at Čad restaurant is a must. We will definitely book here again when we’re next back in Ljubljana.

AustraliaOur stay at Hotel Čad in Ljubljana was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. Tucked away in a peaceful location near the beautiful Tivoli park, the hotel offers the perfect blend of tranquility and easy access to the city center (very pleasant 20min walk), ideal for both relaxing and exploring. The hotel is stylish and modern, with a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel welcome right away. Our room was impeccably clean, beautifully designed, and very comfortable, with great attention to detail throughout. Also the staff were really friendly and professional. We also dined at the hotel’s restaurant that has a good selection of traditional slovenian dishes. The 'a la carte' breakfast at their bistro was excellent with plenty of options to choose from. The hotel also has private parking with plenty of spaces. Hotel Čad exceeded all our expectations. It’s a perfect choice for anyone visiting Ljubljana, and we’d return in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!

United KingdomWhen I only kept the bed lamp on before sleeping at night, I saw many dusts in the light. I had similar experience in other hotels. This doesn't make me sick but only mentally uncomfortable.
The breakfast is awesome, decent and delicious. The staff in restaurant told us that we can order as much food in the menu as we like to...

United StatesThe issue are the restaurants here, that can make or break a hotel. Good management starts at the top. Somewhere along the way, this system has broken down. We had dinner at the Bistro. There was only one other couple besides us, other than a small group in another room. We asked if we could sit near the window, a table set up for four people, and received a look of distaste, but we were allowed to sit there. Ordering was fine, small pours of wine, small $14 euro burger that was supposed to have bacon, blue cheese, etc. the amount of blue cheese was laughable and the burger was bland. We asked for a side of olives, a menu item, but never received them. The waitress then got busy cleaning and prepping for closing and ignored us until I had to stand up to get her attention. The other waiter told me not to be upset, and "can't I see she was busy preparing?". The lesson to the staff is if you don't take care of the few customers you have today, perhaps ask about the food, see if we want anything else, but not to worry since you are surely getting less and less customers over time. Eventually you will have all the time you want to prep for tomorrow, as you have no customers. The sad thing is that the hotel is very nice and the service at the restaurant made us not want to stay a second night.
The room is nice and the grounds are beautiful.
