Our stay was a true celebration of luxury—not just in the setting or the service, but in how it made us feel. Even now, almost a month later, we still carry the sense of calm, care, and quality that defined every moment. As hoteliers ourselves, we know how much effort goes into creating an experience like this, and we appreciated every detail—from the beautifully prepared dinners based on daily market selections, to the thoughtful wine pairings and the refined atmosphere of the hotel itself. The team was exceptional, and while it’s difficult to name just a few, Vanesa and Robert stood out as absolute stars. Your warmth and professionalism made a lasting impression, and we’re truly grateful. We’ll do our best to make this a place we return to every year. It’s rare to find somewhere that feels so special—and this stay in Slovenia was exactly that.

Vila Planinka is a gem of a hotel. Tucked into the end of a valley bordering the Austrian border. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The staff was just perfect! Friendly, warm, accommodating. And the food is indeed 5-star.

I would prefer it isn’t located across a gas station but luckily you don’t see it as much. Just a friendly advice would be for the staff to be more in touch with some useful info; having the ebikes charged; the dinner was super tasty but felt a bit chaotic (we had plates left while eating the next course, long pauses between courses, different waiters). Other than that everything was perfect and we can’t wait to come back!

Hotel is amazing, very modern and yet feels like a warm home. They care about every little detail and you can feel it. From local produce for breakfast and dinner to fresh fruit and tea in the sauna. I was really blown away.

When we wanted to go to the pool or take some advices, there was no one at the desk on the 5th floor. It's the only thing I can find to complain about... so my stay was wonderful

A really romantic place, especially when it snows. The staff is so kind and helpful, with a lot of good advices. Many thanks to the man who did our check in. The restaurant in the hotel is SO good ! If you stay at this hotel, you must go to the restaurant. They have a sauna but we didn't have enougth time. The aerea is really amazing, and if I need to choose, I prefer one thousand time to stay in this hotel than one in logarska. The room is really comfy and beautiful.

If I had to pick things that were not my cup of tea, I would say it is very very soft mattress and pillows and slide doors of the bathroom

We had really great time at Vila Planinka. The property is really clean and everything looks really nice. Lobby is supercool and cozy, rooms are big and nicely decorated and of course there is a cute spa room with two sauna :). Have to mention stuff- they deserve 10 stars for their friendliness and accessibility, we have only amazing words for them :) Location is amazing - surrounded with the mountains, a lot of walking and hiking possibilities, beautiful nature and mountain views.. perfect destination for charging your batteries

Minors details such as the quality of the toilet paper, no body lotion available in the rooms, only one pair of sleepers available when we were two travelling.

The niche in our room set out as a desk didn't have proper lighting. No real storage facility for i.e. closet, for clothes storage in our room. A bit sub-standard for the price.

Absolutely fabulous. The staff was very nice. The room was very well decorated and cozy. The bedding very good, I had a great sleep. The food (dinner and breakfast) were great. The view from the terrace was stunning. I came there by bicycle and they had a garage to store it.

Close to road - motorbikes, particularly at weekends - a shame when you’re in a peaceful mountain valley. Rooms expensive.

Lovely helpful staff - and plenty of them! Great recommendations for activities. E bikes to rent and ordinary bikes for free. Spacious, clean, modern, great food and a very invested sommelier.

The room did not have air conditioning and was very warm at night, the walls were also thin and we could hear the guests next door very easily. We were surprised and disappointed to be charged 70 euros for shared airport transport where we were not able to choose the departure time.

The hotel was beautifully designed and close to hiking routes and a lovely little lake. The breakfast and restaurant were a high standard, with a very good tasting menu on offer alongside a la carte. The hotel staff were attentive and welcoming.

Stunning views, quiet location, so much to do both at the Villa and surrounding areas The staff are incredible, so knowledgable and helpful. The wine is top quality, and recommend a tour of the wine room.
