Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelThe room stated 4 beds but it is actually 4 bunk beds so it is a room for 8, also my bed did not have an electricity spot so I couldn’t charge my phone at night. I think a curtain would make the bed a-lot more comfortable in a mixed room of 8.
I missed my bus to ljubljana so couldn’t come for my original dates, Mercel was very nice to let me come a different day that there was room. The bed was comfortable for me and there is a bus station close. There are lockers in the room with a key.

NorwayNice and clean rooms, friendly staff, clean kitchen. Not very close to the old town but there is a bus stop across from the hostel to take you downtown. Alternatively you can walk half an hour through a green path by the river to reach the old town.

HungaryThey have advertised a 4-bed room so I booked it and it turned out to be an 8-bed dorm, I feel misled and scammed by this. Location is remote which I knew but also there was nothing around to do shopping or eating and buses come like only every one hour so I did not expect that. Top bunk doesn't have power outlets.
Kind staff and simple but clean kitchen and bathroom areas. Locker is nice and big and there's no deposit for the key.

GermanyWhen we arrived there was noone at the reception. I got some instructions via the booking App but remained with some questions and I didn't get an answer via using the App for a while. We initially booked a 4 bed room but got a 6 bed room. The receptionist later explained to me that the 4 bed room no longer exists and is now a 8 bed room. However, I did not understand why we had to pay more then. The toilets and bathrooms are very small and not only once did the light turn off in the toilet because of the very short-timed motion sensor. Two of our roommates were behaving irresponsibly since they started to talk loudly in the middle of the night which woke us up and left the door to the room open while we were still sleeping. What also bugged me was that anyone could just enter the room since no key was needed. One time we came back home and the door just stood open. Another time in the middle of the night 4 guys arrived and set up the sleeping couch and talked loudly. It didn't really feel like a backpacking hostel, mostly group of men without luggage arrived. The walls are very thin which is why you can hear people loudly talking and drinking at night. So please, bring some ear plugs with you! There is only one bus running and not too regular from the hostel to the city center and by walking it takes about 30-40 minutes.
The kitchen was well equipped and the seating in the garden were nice.

IsraelThe where only 2 things that bugged me, one is that one of the showers (i didn't go to the other one) has a lot of water leaking all over the place, only half of the water will reach the body. The other thing is the timer of the lights in the restrooms, it's too short. Yes i understand that's to save electricity, but still, it was not a fun experience.
Although the location is a bit remote, yes, but i believe it a good thing, no car noises, no shouting neighbors nor noises from construction sites. You can rent a bicycle from the hostel and go traveling to the city. The stuff also where very nice and very helpful. And don't forget the price, it's cheap.

GermanyWe booked a 4-bed dorm and got an 8-bed room without further explanation. The host was not willing to give us a discount. The mattresses were old and worn out, not very comfortable. The hostel is really in the suburbs of Ljubljana, but we knew that before
It's not expensive, small familiar hostel with a nice garden.
