How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewA nice room. Great location. Very clean. Very polite and helpful staff.
The fact that there is no wifi in the rooms is negativ. I had no internet connection in the room something that somebody should know before. Air-condition could make my stay better because it was really warm in the room but it was something that i knew from the beginning

Verified reviewThe house was in very good condition. The owner is doing her job very professionally, she was kind and gave me all the information and help I needed. If you travel alone, the kitchen lounge area is quite useful to talk with others. There is a big fridge there and proper kitchen equipments. The bathrooms are well equipped too, just as the room. Everything is very close in this lovely old town.
The weather was very hot in the days of my stay, so the fan and a window simply wasn't enough. But it's not a minus point as I was aware, and the owner told me they plan to have it in the close future. The stairs and closing of the doors can be loud sometimes, also the noises from the street, but it's not the apartment's fault, just be aware of this before you book.

Verified reviewExcellent location in the centre of old town by the beach. Very clean with helpful staff. Bathrooms one per floor (two rooms) and new. Small common area available to use. Nice and quiet compared to previous hostels stayed in. Would recommend.
Wifi only worked in common area not in all bedrooms.

Verified reviewThe room is situated in a 4-level building with no lift (not suitable for heavy luggage) . Sanitaries are out of the bedroom. The price is worth of it, with a location in the very center of Piran. Good welcome, with possibility of adresses for restaurants or any question about Piran. On the ground floor a little lounge/kitchen allows you to warm a meal, take your breakfast, or use a fridge. And Piran is a very very nice place to visit, a smell of Venice , italian taste everywhere. We recommend you to reach this place by bike, as a bike route from Koper offers a comfortable way to come in. Worth of spending a night there, to visit the city walls early in the morning, the best view ! Piran is a city without cars, they must park outside the city. Very nice for pedestrians and cyclists.
All is good with Piran and Alibi B11

Verified reviewGood location, good and easy staff. Great price/quality ratio. The room is what is shown in pics, so no surprises, shared bathroom was good and nice, unfortunately, only one.
The WIFI should be better. The router is downstairs, so it does not reach the first floor. The street is noisy, and if your room is on that side, you'll probably have a noisy night.

Verified reviewEverything. There are many positive points and Rebeca is an excellent host/manager.
I was on the 3rd floor and the internet connection doesn't get till there so the option is to come down to the kitchen on the ground floor to be able to use the hostels Wi-Fi.

Verified reviewExcellent location. Kind and friendly receptionist. Good for a few nights' stay.
Because it's an old, authentic local house, everything can be heard very — very — clearly. The accommodation is simple and more suitable for young travelers. Unfortunately, we were unlucky to be staying at the same time as two families from Slovakia with four small children. The kids were left to scream and run around the hostel from early morning, while the parents cooked and had breakfast in the kitchen — waking everyone up, without the slightest concern for others. But that speaks more about them than about the place itself.

Verified reviewIt was located extremely central, nearby the sea and restaurants. The host was very friendly. Even though the bathroom (and toilet) was shared, every single floor had a seperate bathroom (1 per two rooms). Resulting in almost no overlap of usage. The room was decent, but the price was rather low so actually a quite enjoyable experience. I would visit the room again in the future. Only small downside was that the wifi only worked downstairs. Al in all I would give the experience a solid 8.5/10.
No wifi on the room, only wifi downstairs.

Verified reviewJust the location
Every thing else let's start. 1/no curtain in the room so light enter the room in the morning.. I did ask the receptionest about that and she give me old pieces of fabric to put in the window 2/alot of stairs.. My room was in 4flour so I have to carry my luggage to that floor.. 3/no curtain in bathroom can you imagine so ladies when you take a shower neighbours will saw you 4/stupid shower that you have to carry it for washing yourself. All in photos. I wander why someone pay money with all that negative
We are sorry to hear you had a disappointing stay yet we'd like to address some of the issues you've raised: our rooms are located in a 200-year-old building and it is also specified that all rooms are accessible by stairs. Our female receptionist is always happy to help men carry their heavy luggage, if requested. It is true that the room does not have curtains, we are working on fixing this issue as soon as possible. Had you mentioned sensitivity to light before arrival, we would have made sure to assign you a room with windows. It is worth to mention, that no other guests have complained about this issue so far. As for the bathroom on your floor - it is the biggest and most spacious one, with a small 40x40cm window that overlooks a deserted rooftop. So, ladies, we assure you that no one will see you except for a few seagulls. ;) Additionally, the window is placed away from the shower head. All in the photos. We would also like to add that you booked the cheapest private room in Piran (the only cheaper accommodation would have been a bed in a dormitory in one of Piran's hostels). So overall, we believe that a clean private room, tastefully renovated shared bathroom (that you shared with only one other guest) and location are worth the quite low price you paid for your stay. Regardless, we hope that you enjoyed exploring Piran. All the best, Alibi B11
