Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsHabyt Cantonment has a very authentic Singapore feel. We had the Extra Large rooms and they were a great size with own kitchen and bathroom. The building is older but kept clean and comfortable. It is at a great location, close to Outram MRT. We were here for a week with the family, and we all enjoyed it.

United KingdomThe bedding could have been a bit softer but I understand that is subjective.
I stayed for 2 months. The rooms are very spacious and the shower facilities fantastic. The general cooking and socialising areas are also very comfortable and feel welcoming. More like a condo feel than a hotel. I had a few issues with my room at the beginning regarding a blocked shower drain and AC that wasn’t really working and once I raise the issues they were fixed within 24 hours. I would also like to extend a special thanks to Nancy on the desk who was friendly to show me the facilities and help when I accidently lovked myself out my room!

AustraliaVery minor - only 1 roll of toilet paper in the room, had to ask for more as needed.
Close to train stations with easy access to just about anything in the city. Affordable rooms with good facilities. Staff were kind and helpful. Access to the pool (although small) was great in the heat.

United StatesThe door's closing mechanism is too strong, which leads to practically slamming the door when closing. Since no one would hold the door, it slams when closing after leaving or coming. So, if there are a lot of people going in and out, you will be "enjoying" the loud noise. I was lucky the first days in that regard. But my last two nights were challenging.
The location is great. However, to appreciate it, one needs to walk around and understand where you are. It is rather central. There are plenty of bus routes at the door or nearby, and you can get anywhere. Metro is five minutes on foot. Also, food courts, a supermarket and other shops are five minutes or less on foot. The staff is friendly indeed. I didn't have an adapter matching the local outlets, and I was given one to use while there. I requested an extra bed sheet (I sleep under a bed sheet rather than under a blanket), and it was brought to my room right away. By the way linen, blanket, pillows are of high quality, white and clean. It is crucial to have WhatsApp - that's the only way to communicate with the staff. For those who need a kitchen, there is one in the office lounge, which also has several computer stations and sofas to hang around. The crowd seems friendly, considerate, and polite.

AustraliaThere was no elevator (or at least we were never showed/couldn’t find one) and our room was on the third floor. Carrying our bags up and down was not pleasant and after being out all day in the heat, climbing 3 flights of stairs was not enjoyable. Beds were small and hard and no spare pillows in the room.
Hotel was in a good convenient location. Less than 10 minute walk to the MRT or bus stops. Had communal facilities like laundry and kitchen, and the pool was very nice!

New ZealandWe liked everything.
The kitchen was well stocked and very convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was good - we ate a lot at Tanjong Pagar hawkers' stalls. We only discovered quite late that Tanjong Pagar MRT is close - better than Outram Park MRT. The pool was clean and it was good to be able to use extra towels. The laundry was very good. Other guests were quiet and well behaved. Altogether it suited us very well.

United KingdomRoom was tired and not as pictured, walls were heavily marked had been patched with different paint in areas, pool (plunge pool) was not regularly cleaned, no lighting. Tried to initially charge 80sd for a pillow case that had some of wife's makeup on, we had our own washing machine in room, this was however rectified.
The hotel was in a good location, close to MRT, airport and locks amenities. Staff were helpful on arrival as my wife arrived first and myself a day later. Rooms had good Aircon and great shower (very powerful)

SingaporeExpected the room to be a bit bigger than pictured, considering the room we got was one of the bigger ones. The pool had leaves and other stuffs inside that wasn't cleaned out and had no lights around it which becomes a little bit hard to navigate when it's past 6pm, even though it is opened until 9pm.
It is a quiet location yet accessible. The staffs were friendly and helpful, gave us easy ways to ask any questions without having to go down to the reception.

Sri LankaThe staff, unfortunately, were not very helpful. At check-out, I returned the key card at 11:00 AM and waited in the lobby. However, the receptionist did not inform me when the check-out process was complete. I had to ask again at 11:45 AM, and only then was I told it was done. Due to this delay, the taxi I had booked left after the one-minute grace period, and I lost SGD 35 as a result. Timely communication from the reception would have prevented this inconvenience. For anyone travelling to Singapore, I strongly advise against booking a taxi through the Booking.com portal. Based on my experience, this taxi service is significantly more expensive compared to local alternatives. I’m sharing this to help fellow travellers avoid unnecessary costs and inconvenience. There are more reliable and affordable options available, such as the ZIG app, which I found to be far more reasonable in price and better in service. The driver who arranged via booking.com taxi portal were refused to come even though I was just one minute past the allocated 15-minute waiting time. I was not informed that the booking would be completely cancelled the moment the 15-minute window ended. I requested the driver to come with a late payment, but he stated that there would be no benefit from the previous booking, no refund, and demanded S$50 for a new booking—just for being one minute late. I then booked the exact same trip via the ZIG app, and it only cost me S$17.20. I used this ride for my airport drop-off. The customer service from the original provider (booked via booking.com) was terrible, and I strongly recommend that any traveller coming to Singapore should download the ZIG app for a reliable and reasonably priced taxi service. This same driver later had the audacity to ask me again for S$50, while I had already arranged the same ride for just S$17.20.
Location is good and easily accessible by bus. There are restaurants and a mini supermarket nearby, which is very convenient. Room cleanliness was satisfactory, and kitchen utensils were adequate for basic cooking. You can prepare your own meals, and the room includes a washing machine, refrigerator, and electric kettle. However, an iron is not provided, so I suggest bringing a travel iron if needed.

AustraliaPerhaps the room cleaning frequency can be increased slightly. There were ants in the rooms, I am not sure whether this is common in hotels in Singapore.
Great front-desk service. Good facilities (coffee, water, fridge, desktops, and a common area are accessible). Good location. It would be an even better location once the new Circle Line opens. Next to a food centre too.

United KingdomThe room walls are thin to the corridor so you can hear activity outside. The pool wasnt cleaned often but is still working. The jungle garden does attract insects. Location is too far for walking even to tanjong pagar, nothing is close, but if you are happy with getting taxis and using grab delivery it can be a great place to stay.
Very good as a co workikg space which acts as a great place to meet other residents. Staff were very good and helped out a lot. Rooms and facilities are newly renovated and spacious fir singapore standards. Great jungle garden and free coffee and use of the fridge is great. Overall I would describe it as a very fancy hostel with your own room. Yoga/gym studio is good idea but needs more work.

MexicoThe room I stayed in needed a bit of maintenance — for example, there were some dirty spots on the walls. The room is cleaned every four days, which I only found out after arriving. I would have preferred to know this in advance.
The location is really good. The price is fair and considering the prices in Singapur I think this offers a really good option. It offers options as coworking space, kitchen, etc. which makes it very convenient for long term stays

FranceThe property has a fantastic location, just a short walk from Chinatown! It’s a quiet and clean environment, with everything at your disposal (e.g coffee/tea in the kitchen, gym with showers, laundry room, etc.) - perfect for remote work. The check-in/out process is also seamless. I didn’t interact much with the staff over the week but they were very kind and helpful!
