We had a room in new part facing river. I enjoyed our short stay in this hotel. The room was nice and staff was very friendly and available. Nice breakfast in a bit crowdy atmosphere, but still nice.

To get to the room in new part the way you need to make is a bit challenging. Some ventilation nose in the room during day (not at night time). The cleaning of WC was not acceptable, not expected thing in the hotel of this level.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The location is fantastic! You can take a nice walk along the river just in the heart of the downtown. Our room welcomed us with a homelike feeling of comfort. The breakfast was delicious.

We didn't like the way we were treated when we were checking out of the hotel. We felt a little humiliated by the girl at the reception in front of other people.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Very nice rooms with comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast and dining hall. Fun rooftop pool lounge area. Good parking too.

Breakfast was extensive but only OK (not to same standard as Elite Hotel in Stockholm. Room was spacious, comfortable and light. Check-in staff were helpful and friendly. Location was excellent.

Cereal options were limited and muesli was very "dusty". Our room was noisy from council trucks emptying recycling bins right outside our window at 6am. Check-out staff less friendly and unhelpful. No parkinf available even though that was a specific search filter. Had to park 500 metres away.

Good located in the city centre. Quick check-in, friendly staff. Hotel room size was sufficient for short stays, but where to place two suitcases? Good breakfast, but in an overcrowed, noisy and hectic atmosphere.

Parking in the hotel-owned parking garage could not be arranged, although we asked in good time before :-( The 15 min stop area in front of the hotel was blocked all day (and night) by the same delivery cars. Why noone takes care of it? We had a pretty noisy room, since bum-bum-bum music from the roof bar area above was cleary audible during our entire stay - even in night hours. Free WLAN in the room did really not work, we had to go out to aisle to get connection! We experienced an overcrowed, noisy and hectic atmosphere in breakfast area. Guests are phoning (crying) during breakfast :-(

Almost everything

Construction works in the hotel - our windows were shielded with paper. I.e., no view whatsoever. The works were announced after booking, but a reduced price would have been appropriate.

Elite Stadshotellet Karlstad offers a classic and elegant experience, with several thoughtful touches that made our stay enjoyable. The bathroom was well-stocked with plenty of toiletries, and we appreciated the in-room water kettle, which was a nice convenience. Breakfast was generous with plenty of food options, and the staff was welcoming and responsive, offering helpful communication and optional services. Free Wi-Fi worked very well throughout the stay.

Despite its strengths, the hotel had some notable downsides. Parking for electric or hybrid vehicles was quite expensive (double the price for non-electric parking spots), and the garage was fully booked during our visit, with very little room to maneuver. The layout of the hotel, which includes both old and new buildings connected by hallways, made using the elevators confusing. Most significantly, the room was extremely hot due to the lack of air conditioning, and the noise levels were disruptive. City cleaning trucks, loud morning conversations outside, and even persistent bird noise made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep.

Location is excellent, and breakfast was really good.

I got an e-mail saying there would be an event until 01.00 during my stay. I asked for a quiet room and they said it was not a problem. My room was right next to where the event was, which was a loud party, for two nights, hardly got any sleep. The rooms need to be renovated, the decor is old and not in a charming way. And probably the worst shower pressure I've ever had in a hotel.

Summers in Sweden are getting hotter. This hotel does not have air conditioning, and on a 30 C day, the room was very hot when we checked in. They could not provide us with a fan either as apparently all their fans were already taken. We left our windows open all night which also meant a lot of noise from the street below including the hotel pub… made it difficult to sleep. I would request the management to make fans available in each room.

Amazing hotel, staff, breakfast, location.

The only downside was that our prepaid parking was difficult to locate, with no landmarks or signage. An updated parking handout with a photo of the doorway entrance would be helpful. Other wise, a wonderful stay!
