Unfortunately, our room had no window at all. I had read that every room had a view of either the sea or the garden. Our room not only had no view, it had no window at all!!🤷

The hotel's location is second to none. Easy walk from the ferry, right by the ocean and the old city. And the breakfast! Just wow!

Everything was good

The atmosphere is super calm and cool, the staff is very very friendly, the decoration is so cozy. The hotel location is optimal, in the old town, in front of the sea.

This is a little piece of heaven in an island that’s, without a doubt, a paradise quite unlike any other. Opening out into the vast expanse of the sea, the location is simply magical. The property, with its limited number of rooms, itself is exquisite, and every corner of it screams that it is not your regular hotel. The rooms are tastefully done and the upholstery and furnishings are a delight. And finally, the staff are welcoming and charming to a fault—proof that a place is ultimately its people. PS: The breakfast is mind blowing.

Everything was to our expectations and liking for this small hotel.

Fantastic location by the sea and Visby city center in the wonderful Almedalen park. The breakfast was one of the best we have had at a hotel. You could eat inside or outside overlooking the pretty park, Almedalen. Our family room was decorated so nice and cozy as was the rest of the hotel.

My only remark has to do with the way Booking.com acted. As it acknowledged that the property had waived the charge, it still went ahead and charged, on the very same day, my credit card for the full amount. The refund only came (with kind apologies) a few weeks later, once I noticed that it had yet to happen and submitted a complaint. Of course, this has nothing to do with the property itself, whose owner or manager (Viggo) behaved impeccably throughout.

I must admit that, having made a booking for a stay at Villa Alma, I ended up being forced to cancel it at the last minute for unforeseen reasons. Under the reservation terms, I would still be required to bear a full charge - but the utterly courteous and understanding manner in which the property handled my request to waive that charge is by itself deserving of all praise. I will most certainly try to come and visit at a later date and will recommend the property to other people as well.

Room faced the ocean so it was a little cold at first with the draft, but then I worked out the heating so all was good.

Location is magnificent. The breakfast is one of the best I've stayed in around the world. Staff were friendly and helpful.
