How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe had a perfect stay at this hotel. The staff were super friendly and generous, and we really appreciated Charles and his big smile. The location was perfect, with a nice beach connected to the hotel and a safe neighbourhood. The place provided a calm and peaceful atmosphere. The restaurant had this amazing sea view, and we enjoyed a delicious dinner at the beach. Travelling around the island made us even more satisfied with staying at this part of the island and at this specific hotel. Thanks for a great time at Praslin :)
Nothing, everything was perfect :)

Verified reviewWe truly enjoyed our stay at Village du Pecheur thanks to its convenient location, peaceful while a few steps away from the beach & close to any shop/activity one might need, and great restaurant, which provided plenty of quality choices no matter the time of the day. Rooms were quiet, large and always clean. The staff was helpful, attentive and kind, welcoming us as guests, not just as tourists. Without a doubt our favorite hotel in Seychelles, 10/10 would recommend

Verified reviewPlacement on the beach was super. Beach was perfect. Nice little town with enough restaurants to stay for 3-6 days without getting bored.
Facilities are worn down. Feels like the hotel needs a thorough restoration. Also, ir should try to be a resort, just be a nice hotel on the beach - which is also is/can be. We had ants in our bathroom, but they were actively combatting it.

Verified reviewEverything was incredible! The location is great the beach is one of the best se have seen in Seychelles, there are restaurants and shops nearby, I highly recommend the dinner it had great variety (almost gastronomique) and it felt like heaven having it on the beach with our feet in the sand. The staff are really nice and cheerful. I couldn’t recommend it more!

Verified reviewThe location is perfect for exploring Praslin. The beach at Côte d’Or is quite long, making it easy to stroll around, and there are plenty of supermarkets, food trucks, and restaurants nearby. We had booked the half-board option and can highly recommend it. While the breakfast wasn’t very varied, the dinner consisted of a delicious and diverse four-course menu that surprised us every evening. You can even dine right on the beach with your feet in the sand — a true holiday feeling! All the staff are very friendly and helpful, especially Charles, who gave us great tips for discovering the island. We mostly used the local bus to get around, as there’s a bus stop just nearby and the island is very well connected by public transport.
We had booked a standard room in the building across the street, which was very spacious and nicely furnished. However, you can tell that the rooms are starting to show their age a bit — some power outlets didn’t work properly, and the faucets were either dripping or couldn’t be fully closed, which occasionally caused a very slight, however, barely noticeable, odor.

Verified reviewThe location was 10/10. Might not be the greatest beach but it was proper lowkey not crowded like the touristy ones and it was shallow, perfect for kids. The staff were so so welcoming and lovely! Shoutout to Charles and Grace who made our stay so warmly can’t say we missed our own family back in UK! They looked after us so well. I will definitely come back to this hotel.
There’s been one day we saw like 4/7 cockroaches from our room towards the main lobby area through the passage… not sure if the staff were doing some sort of deep cleaning and these bugs all came out but I felt so disgusted

Verified reviewVillage du Pecheur is situated on the beach, where the breakfast/dinner tables are literally in the sand. The vibe and the atmosphere were wonderful. The Anse Volbert beach is beautiful and it's really only a few steps from the property!! (they provide beach towels). The staff was friendly and helped with any little thing we needed. We arrived with a rental car - there are some parking spaces allocated to the guests. The neiborhood is great, there are some shops, mini-market, food truck, etc really close to the Village. We took a half-board option catering breakfast and dinner. Both were really great. Specifically the dinner included a changing daily menu. We found the dishes tasty. Their drinks menu is also impressive. You can also request a body treatment / massage. We were thinking about it but then got sun burnt so that became less relevant... :( They have two buildings, one on the beach and the other on the other side of the road, so please note when booking what you will receive. Also, they have rooms on the ground floor, so if you have issues with that, do take note of that as well when booking... The room was spacious, clean and quiet. The wifi worked well throughout the Village. The AC was working well. It was a lovely stay. I'm happy we chose the place. PS we also stayed later at a luxury resort. If you're looking for luxury or a resort, this is less for you. But I honestly prefer the authenticity of the Village du Pecheur than what resorts have to offer...
Everything was really great. Nothing to write here...
