How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewLovely little villa, nice and spacious. Staff are friendly and accomodating. Bicycle hire is great at 100SCR/day. La Digue is chilled out and this is a lovely place to stay.
Oven or freezer as most food items on the island are imported freeze-dried at the markets.

Verified reviewit would be beter to organize the beach transfer, because it is not closed to the beach and takes ~30-40 min walking to get to the beach. As we know some other villa's owners organize the transfer via buggy and we had to asked to drop us off from time to time. Will not recommend with the kid.

The AC was not cooling the room enough. It was working but for such a heat it should be of better quality

Verified reviewAll the staff(wonderful women's team)have been incredibly kind, helpful, and supportive. Breakfast is consistently served on time, and room service is provided daily, as well as pool towels provided. Overall, the atmosphere makes you feel at home. Additionally, transfers to and from the port were organised very quickly and at a cost of SCP200.
Two dogs have been barking in the middle of the night. I'm not sure if they have been irritated by someone or something, but it could be frustrating for longer stays.

Verified reviewComfortable room with nice balcony overlooking the pool area. Quite laid back vibe and friendly staff. Bikes available to rent, 10 minute cycle to the beaches or main area.
Air con did not work well, and was difficult to cool the room. I didn't have the breakfast but saw others did and it looked pretty average for the price. Pool water didn't look that clear so didn't go in.

Verified reviewEverything was nice: place itself, service, staff, pool and tortoise living there. Very good cleaning, they even washed the plates. Also they helped us with the transfer and bicycle rentals. We also used all the amenities after the checkout. Staff gave us towels to use even after check out

The beds were very hard They probably weren't as flexible as the other places we've been to in the Seychelles.

Verified reviewWe had a wonderful time at Villa Source D’Argent! The staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay, always supporting us in every possible way. We’re especially grateful for the thoughtful gesture on our last day — even though we missed breakfast, we were given a fruit box to take with us to the beach. They also looked after our luggage while we enjoyed our final hours, and before our departure, we were offered a refreshing treat with fresh fruits. Both the staff and the owner were exceptionally attentive and welcoming. If we ever return to the island, we’ll definitely stay here again! We also loved that we could rent bikes — it made getting around so quick and easy. We truly had a fantastic time!

Verified reviewOverall a really nice hotel, they were helpful with bike rental. Pool is really warm, actually a bit too warm. Location is great.
One of the staff members seemed a bit “angry”/unsatisfied. Bike rental and hotel tax/levy can only be paid in cash.

Verified reviewHighly recommended! We had a great time at this villa! Rooms comfortable, cleaned daily, you can rent a bicycle for 100 rupees per person per day. Very close to the most beautiful beaches, shops. There is a nice pool in the area, highly recommended!

Verified reviewThe villa was nicely put together and very comfortable. We beds were comfortable and we slept quite well. It is not necessarily central however easily accessible by bike. We used the bikes to go everywhere which made the stay nice and easy! The staff was understanding when realized we left the villa without paying for the bikes. Thank you!
The staff wont be on site after early afternoon. Also it is advertised that breakfast is from 7h30, however there wont be anyone available until after 8h. We had a early start tour and had to eat our breakfast in 5min otherwise we wouldnt make it on time. We mentioned during check in we would like transfer to early ferry however the day before check out there was nobody on site who could organize it. We had to leave the villa at 6h30 and walked to the harbour (about 35min) as there was nobody around and unfortunately both of our phones were not working so couldnt text the staff.
Thank you Catia for your feedback, it is well appreciated. It was very disappointing for us that you left without informing us and without paying bicycles you willingly rented for 2 days. We are a self-catering accommodation and we do not have on site staff 24/7. We do however have all informations in the room including phone numbers to contact, as we do understand that both of your phones suddenly didn't work, it is important to note that there is a landline phone in all of our rooms available at no extra cost for all of our guests in case you need to call our team, a taxi or any local numbers. I would like to reconfirm that breakfast is from 7:30-10AM and we do advise our guests to inform us in advance, especially if they have a tour booked. We organize taxis for all of our guests arrival/departure when communicated, even if you wished to check-out at 6:30AM without informing the team, you could have left the cash payment for the bicycles so that we could have paid our supplier.
