How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewWe had an amazing experience! We combined an excellent stay at a hotel with an ocean view and a fantastic terrace with our own hammock. The rooms were cleaned daily. The staff was extremely friendly, starting with the hotel manager, Jakob, who was a wonderful person. He gave us a lot of useful tips to make our stay special and even served us bananas grown on the hotel grounds. The morning yoga experience was also something special. We had no prior experience, but we were guided by the yoga instructor, who explained things in detail, and we even tried flying yoga. We highly recommend this to everyone!

Verified reviewThe photos on the site don’t do it justice. The rooms are very well appointed with lovely views over the ocean. While the property is separated from the beach by the coastal road, that’s not an issue, mainly because almost all the properties in the part of Mahe are on the inland side of the coastal road and the road is not particularly busy. The chalets are fully equipped and we were able to whip up some lovely breakfasts with groceries bought down the road in Anse Royale. Jacob, our host, went out of his way to assist us. We loved our yoga sessions with Solange every morning before breakfast.
No complaints at all. We had a blissful stay.

As the place isn’t on the cheap side, it feels weird to pay after first day for every coffee capsule extra. Asked for a wash load and dryer of T-Shirts, socks aso without ironing and would have ended up by 50!Euros.

Regarding our coffee capsules, we do give some on check in, however we will remind you that the establishment is a self-catering. However we do sell boxes of 10 nespresso capsules in the reception for everyone’s convenience. Similar with laundry. We offer a price list for laundry service should anyone wish to have their laundry done. It is not a free service. The manager offered to do your laundry for the agreed price of Euro 30, so I do not know where you got the 50 from. Please, when you are leaving a review, stick to the truth. Verified reviewGreat room and the general facilities. The room is spacious and very nice. There is ample equipment in the room and all the equipment is of good quality. The housekeeping is also good.
The staff at reception was rude and didn't make us feel comfortable or safe. During checking in, he would say things like " if you don't check out on time, I will charge you extra per minute". He should be more polite and customer friendly. The second thing that wasn't very great was the breakfast. They just had bread, jam, cereal and fruit. It would be good if they can keep something better like eggs etc. The final thing that bothered us was the CCTV cameras. They had cameras which were facing directly at our bedroom. If you forget to close your curtains, the cameras will be recording everything in your bedroom.

I would like to point out that I was in touch with you, I am the owner of the property and your comments are unjust seeing that you made the booking on the basis that you had one child but turned up with two. Since I made the decision to allow it, there is no need to be spiteful. Lucky for you and unlucky for us that booking.com wording can be misleading. We are in the busy season and cannot allow late check outs right now, sorry there was some miscommunication but again, trying to trash the property is very tacky. For our guests safety we do have CCTV cameras and a night watchman, the cameras ARE NOT centered in front of the chalets but on the sides. They do not in anyway face the bedrooms. We take our security and privacy of our guests VERY seriously so again you trying to trash that is extremely tacky to say the least. Last but not least, we offer a full CONTINENTAL breakfast, last I checked continental means nothing is cooked. If you wanted something cooked then read the descriptions more carefully next time. We are a small self-catering property and when someone tries to tarnish the hard work that goes into making our property stand out, we simply draw the line. I think that anyone reading our reviews can discern for themselves when there is a no regards to hard working people trying their best to someone who obviously had it out to cause harm. Dear Rakan, your review is quite discerning in comparison to all our other reviews. I can also remark that you did have the two bedroom chalet (and you were two people only), which is always supplied with extra towels, soap and rolls. So I can say that you were never out of towels nor out of rolls. Also noted was your verbal comment to keep the air condition running while you were out for the day. We are an eco-friendly property trying to do our part to conserve energy and our planet. By all means use the air condition when you are in the chalet but when you are out on the beach? Our property is a self catering establishment and not the four seasons. We do however supply our own branded shampoo, conditioner, lotion and shower gel in addition to small hand soaps. We do not supply toothbrushes nor shaving kits. If you are looking for those you should not stay in a self catering establishment. You were given ample towels and for the beach as well. So if you are looking to complain here, it is obvious from our previous reviews that your review is just trying to cause a stir. Our staff work hard and I am not convinced by your score that they did not do their job.

Very quite, calm and relaxing.The joga teacher so patient and good in supporting and new forms. Jakob also very kind , helpfull. Everythin very clean , fantastic quality of everything, TV, internet , aircondition. Nice decoration of complex.
The location is little far from everything, first supermarket is over 1 km far, the bus station also is not close. The beach was so windy, maybe in this time of year, we do swim on Hilton beach which is also over 1,3 km. Between beach and chalets complex is main road .

Verified reviewNew place in a green garden, with a fully equipped kitchen. Clean.
The place is isolated, so you must have a car to reach the supermarket. There is a small grocery store about 1 kilometer away, but it has only minimal products, and walking there on a narrow road without a sidewalk is dangerous. There is only one restaurant nearby, and it is closed on Mondays evenings and Tuesdays. Besides the units with the pool, there are 6 apartments in a row and a connecting door between each two. If you want full privacy, you should hope the apartment near you is not occupied. There were no yoga lessons when we were there, so if you desire yoga lessons I would suggest contacting the place in advance and asking. We have been in several places around Mahe, and even though mosquitos are everywhere, in Paradise Chalets the problem was extreme. We couldn't sit outside or practice yoga on the balcony because of the mosquitos.

Verified reviewI really like the place, everything was green and clean. There’s not so many guests and you can enjoy your privacy. The kitchen has all you need. The room cleaning was great, they even did dishwashing every time. A beach close by is nice but not so good for swimming. You need a car to travel around the island or buy the bus card in advance at the airport otherwise you’re stuck there. To walk around the island is dangerous cause there is no special path for pedestrians and you literally walk on the car road. The staff was super friendly and nice and did everything to make our stay comfortable. Definitely worth to come back there again! Special thanks to a lovely dog!

The stairs a bit steep, so maybe not the best for kids. There was no in-house dining or a place to eat so have to bring own food or eat outside, which was not a huge issue.
