How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

All very good.
Rainy night after arrival in MRU. Nice welcome with warm towels, bar was still open until 10pm. Nice and spacious room, AC, all clean, super price, no complaints. Rainy morning - nice swimm in the infinity pool - nice breakfast included. All very fine. Thank you.

A small pool. In addition, poor sound insulation - when the cleaning ladies talk in the corridor and in the next room in the morning, it feels like they are talking in your room.
Brakfest was nice, I have chosen two fried eggs and got also fruit salad and coffee with milk. Was tasty. For dinner I had to wait for a 35 min, but it was good also.

We had a short one-night stay at The Ridge Residence before catching our flight. It was ok for a quick stopover, but I wouldn’t stay longer. Our triple room had a window facing a wall, and the bathroom wasn’t very clean, with some unpleasant odors. The double rooms by the pool looked much nicer, but overall, the price felt quite high for what we got.
The lady at reception was very pleasant and helpful. The location, close to the airport

It took a while to get the hot water in the shower.
Our room was facing the sea and opened onto the deck near the pool. Good breakfast and friendly staff.

We got back to the Ridge Residence from dinner that we had at a restaurant at Eden Island at about 21:30. Some other guests started having a party at the pool at 22:00. Our one bedroom was above the pool, and the other bedroom in front of the pool. The noise from these other guests was disruptive so late at night and continued till late. Unfortunately the front desk had already closed by 22:00.
The view over the bay was great! the infinity pool was also beautifully situated to maximize the views. The room was crisp and clean and the A/C worked really well. The breakfast which we had just before leaving for the airport, was good.

We ran out of hot water halfway through a short shower. Not sure what happened.
Located on the hill overlooking the port with nice views. The place was clean and well kept. The rooms were spacious and pleasant. The beds and bedding were nice. The breakfast was tasty and well served. We requested a pick-up at the airport and a transfer to the port and all happened seamlessly.

The pool is a small tank, you cannot swim there. The location is not that central.
The room was nice and had a balcony with a nice view. The breakfast was very nice with different options. The staff was friendly. The hotel is in a quiet place.

The Ridge is quite away from the Mahe action. You can't just walk into town, though I noticed a couple of young people staying there did walk.It took them about 40 mins then walk into town and you certainly couldn't walk it in the dark. Therefore taxi are necessary everywhere and taxi's are expensive. If you can pay in rupees, because it's much cheaper.
Small family run. The staff are excellent and extremely helpful.

Not being able to order food when we needed to. There are specific hours you can get food.
Wifi worked perfect. Price was reasonable compared to other places we visited. The hot water in the bathroom worked so well.
