Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandWlan does not work. Everybody complains in the reviews but nothing is done. Any other place in Mauritius and Seychelles no problem. For the price - this should be a service to your guest.
During our time in La Digue Island Lodge we had it nice and easy. I booked the yello house first, but when we arrived I payed an upgrade for a Bungalow. Breakfast 35 Euros per Person too expensive. Pool nice - never used. Beach nice with pretty sunsets. Beds were always available. We ate every night in the restaurant a la carte. Nice and friendly service. We enjoyed La Digue with the bikes. There is also other options in town. Price and value here is not perfect.

LuxembourgThe price for breakfast is too high (48€ per person and per day), so we decided not to take it. Bicycle rental is per day (not for 24h), so even though we rented the bicycle on the first day from 4pm onwards, we had to pay the full price for that day.
Spacious bungalow, good location that is close to the harbour and the most famous beaches. Bicycle rentals are available at the hotel.

AustraliaBad smell near dining area - probably from the ocean. Had to call each day for clean towels as room service would take the dirty ones but forget to replace them.
Good location and decent, small breakfast buffet with water views. Could use facilities before check in and after checkout. Seamless transfers included.

NetherlandsAlthough hotel confirmed a day before arrival, we could have an early check-in (13:00) the room was not ready and we had to wait for 2 hours. It looked liked hotel is understaffed. Quite some waiting time at reception, even for just getting a beach towel. At breakfast it was a struggle to get coffee and assortment was poorly refilled. The bed was quite hard and not very comfortable.
Rooms (bungalows) are situated in a large, beautiful garden. Rooms are spacious and clean, although a bit outdated. It is very peaceful. Each room has its own terrace. Breakfast is at the edge of the ocean with a great view towards Praslin. You can rent bicycles at the hotel. A small supermarket is located opposite the entrance, a larger one just at 5 minutes walking distance. At arrival of the ferry in La Digue free transfer to the hotel is arranged. Same for transport to the ferry once you leave. The swimming pool is quite large and deep (2 meters).

SeychellesThe breakfast would benefit from a bit more diversity. It was a decent spread, but it is overpriced for what it is.
Great location close to the Jetty and L'Union Estate. The beach chalets were great. Outdoor shower and the balcony sun beds were a very nice addition to the room.

QatarThe staff were not the friendliest, whether at the reception or in the restaurant. Hygiene at the restaurant was not the greatest as it is open air and birds were all over the place sitting on the plates and spoons, even picking from the buffet and trying to get at other guests’ plates. Staff were trying to chase them away but it was not with any noticeable effort. Beach is not the greatest.
Nicely made. The property is beautiful to look at.

PolandBreakfasts were really poor. You couldn’t even fill your bottle with water to take with you. Which is quite normal on other hotels. The most important thing is that it is a THREE STAR hotel, not like Booking Com suggests a four Star one. That is really misleading. There was a constant problem with towels. We usually needed to ask for clean towels. They were usually lacking. Once I even felt as if I took the towels with me to my luggage and asked for more. Not very nice. There is a bidet in the bathroom, but no towels for it. Clean towels were usually a problem here. Again, something which is quite normal in other hotels wasn’t normal here.
The hotel is placed in a very nice park with many beautiful trees. You can hire a bike next to the hotel to hike around the island and explore it. The island is beautiful and really worth visiting. The House in the park was very nice with a comfortable small terrace. There is a nice swimming pool in the hotel. The hotel offers also free transport from and to the port. Which is also very nice.

IndiaThe air conditioning unit was faulty and was not cooling properly. Despite repeated requests we were told that it is working and that because the sun is coming right in front of our room we are feeling the same however the A/C was definitely not working.
Loved that the property is right in front of the beach. The rooms are neat and well maintained.

UkraineDisappointed with the service — double charge and no refund after more than a month Our stay at this hotel was unfortunately marred by a serious billing issue. We were charged twice for the same booking, and although both the hotel and Booking.com support promised to help resolve the situation, it’s been over a month and we still haven’t received our refund. I reached out to Booking.com customer service shortly after discovering the issue, and while they assured me they would follow up with the property, there has been no real progress or resolution. It’s incredibly frustrating to deal with such a lack of transparency and action. We expected better service — both from the hotel and the booking platform. This experience left a very unpleasant impression, despite the beauty of the location itself.
A true paradise on Earth! This place is an absolute dream. Just ten steps — and you’re standing on the shore of the endless ocean. Surrounded by gently swaying palm trees, soft sand, and complete silence, broken only by the sound of the waves. It’s the perfect destination for those seeking peace, seclusion, and natural beauty. The hotel is cozy, full of character, and blends perfectly with the surrounding landscape. You feel like you’re in a fairy tale — where every sunrise and sunset becomes a magical experience. La Digue has truly captured my heart

MozambiqueThe AC was still not functioning until the time of departure. (AC power was so low and it was hot inside the room) The shower drainage was not working and the water was flooded. Upon entering the room, there were few clear handprints on the mirror, asked the cleaner to wipe it off and had to ask for extra towels since there were only one for three people. Due to many things needed to be done, call, wait and get it fixed. We wasted our precious time.
The maintenance guy has tried to sort out the problem with AC. pool. The security guy had noticed the bike was not in a good condition and helped us.

MozambiqueThe communication between staff weren't handled well. Over 2 hours we didn't get the suitcase(when we were informed that suitcases will be delivered immediately) Informed the guy at the le union estate, and he had informed, but still did not arrive. (Phone wasn't working due to load shed) in the end, my son had to go all the way to the receptionist from le union estate with his bike to inform our luggage's to be delivered. ( which the medicine was packed and needed it for my other kid, and the staff knew my other son had seek a doctor in that early morning) NO apologies were made on that day, next day, manager on duty apologized ONLY after I informed about the issue. The staff which he said he will inform to upper management, he did not inform. It gave me a surprise. It was quite unpleasant, because we stayed there every year for past few years and the amount you are paying for was not equivalent. The vigilance of customer service was lacking, no propoer communication was carried out upon the management and it was bad we had to waste our time to wait.
The location. Staff were nice.

United Arab EmiratesThat said, there’s room for improvement. Some of the reception and restaurant staff could be more accommodating and friendly to better match the overall charm of the hotel. Also, while the beachfront is scenic and perfect for watching sunsets, it's not the easiest spot for swimming. Overall, it’s a solid place to stay on La Digue, and with a few small changes, it could be even better.
We stayed at La Digue Island Lodge for two nights and really enjoyed our time there. The hotel has a beautiful and relaxing ambience, and the staff—from security to housekeeping and the gardeners—were all very friendly and welcoming. Our room was comfortable, with a cozy bed that made for a great night's sleep. The bathroom amenities were decent and met our needs. One of the best parts of the stay was the location—it's perfectly situated near all the key places to explore on the island, and there’s a convenient bike rental right outside the property, which made getting around super easy. And of course, the swimming pool was a highlight for me—clean, inviting, and just what I love! Overall, it was a lovely stay and a great base for discovering La Digue.

GermanyWifi was terrible, barely usable. Besides texting, most stuff took forever to open, if at all. At our first dinner, we ordered drinks, were charged for it, but they never arrived. However, the staff removed the charge after we notified them of the issue. The restaurant staff seemed to be poorly organized. The AC in the room was badly positioned, the cold air blew directly on the bed and could not be adjusted differently so it was not usable at night.
We stayed in the standard garden room which was nicely decorated and with a very comfortable bed. We loved the beautiful garden and the greenery. The pool was clean and we enjoyed the pool bar and the seating in the shade around the tree. The beach is not really good for swimming but still nice. The food in the restaurant was good, standard breakfast and a nice selection for dinner. There was a lot of swings and lounge chairs spread around the beach, perfect for watching the sunset. We appreciated the ferry pick-up and drop-off service.
