How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewMy partner and I recently stayed at the Archipel Hotel for our honeymoon and were extremely disappointed with the overall value for money. Despite paying over €600 per night, the experience did not live up to the hotel's claims of being a luxury resort. The most significant issue was the beachfront. The sea directly in front of the hotel was full of seaweed and murky, which was a huge letdown. We also booked an excursion through the hotel to Curieuse Island, which was a complete waste of €200. The tour was disorganized, with no guided tour of the island or its famous giant turtles. The promised BBQ was a generic meal served in a shed with about 40 other people under questionable hygiene conditions, and the beach was unappealing. The snorkeling stop at St. Pierre was equally disappointing, with all the coral dead. A particularly frustrating incident involved our romantic dinner. We were asked to arrive at 7:00 PM sharp, so we rushed back from the beach, missing the sunset. When we arrived, we were told they had forgotten to set it up. The romantic dinner was instead a standard meal with all the other guests. The manager blamed the waitress and refused to take any responsibility or offer any kind of discount. The service was also a major letdown. The reception staff were unresponsive, and nobody seemed willing to take responsibility or provide a clear answer because the manager was never available. Finally, the hotel itself felt half-renovated, with parts of the property having a tin roof, which is not what you expect from a luxury hotel. While our stay was acceptable, it was not the luxurious experience we expected for the price. We cannot recommend this hotel, especially to couples looking for a special, high-end experience.

Verified reviewWonderful hotel. Very well located, includes a private beach with turquoise water and white sand. Just 5 minutes from the port and with amazing views to the ocean. Kayak equipment included and amazing breakfast.
We booked our stayed with half board, still do not understand why normal beverages are not included with the dinner (not even water), it is obvious that everyone drinks with his dinner. This kind of details prevent a hotel from being a top one.

Verified reviewOne of the best hotels I've stayed in, everything about it was perfect but the location right on the beach and the views were probably the most impressive. Every day we saw a spectacular sunset from our room. The French restaurant was incredible and the staff were all highly professional and extremely friendly. 10/10
Nothing to criticise but there is nothing around the area so if you want to go to a shop or local restaurant you need to consider renting a car

Verified reviewWe loved the hotel and the decoration/vibe of the hotel. It was in a good location as well. It was hard for us to use all the facilities of the hotel as it rained the entire time. We loved the view regardless. The creole buffet was fantastic, as was the a la carte. We also liked that they had water sports available, even if we did not get to try that out. The breakfast was excellent as well.
We did not like at all that there was NO IRON in the room. If you wanted to iron your clothes it was a paid service that they offered. Which is just ridiculous. I also did not like that there was no non slip mat at the shower. I am 30 years old, so it is not an age thing, but I almost died twice slipping In that shower. so please be careful. We also were quite disappointed that the hotel did not acknowledge or try to do anything special for our honeymoon. I had noted in several booking note locations that it was our honeymoon. They were the only hotel we stayed at that did not acknowledge that. We also wished that they had more nights with a a la carte menu.

Verified reviewHotel L'Archipel is a wonderful hotel with brilliant views over the bay to Anse Volbert and St Piere islet. The location is picture perfect - with views of the aquamarine sea and green hills in the distance. The room was very spacious and had a nice balcony at the front. One restaurant is right down on the beach and is a lovely place to have breakfast and look out over the beach. The beach is lovely with the classic Seychelles rock formations at the side. We asked for a late checkout and they arranged this for us at no extra charge. The staff were very friendly and the guy looking after our room (from Nepal) was brilliant.
We stayed half board and would comment that the evening meal is a buffet sometimes. The buffet is good, but we found the set meal was excellent. Also drinks and water are extra, so you will run up a bar bill during your stay.

Verified reviewWe travelled as a couple and loved our stay at Hotel L'Archipel. The hotel is clean, modern, comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The pool is great and we could always get a sun lounger. The beach is also practically private and there are free watersports (kayaking and paddle boarding) available from the hotel. There are some good snorkeling spots too - we saw a turtle, couple of baby sharks and a stingray! Best experience of seeing these animals and free! Food was great too, plenty of choice and everything was fresh
There isn't much in walking distance of the hotel and you're reliant on taxis. We also would've liked to see reusable water bottles in the room - seems silly in this day and age to still be supplying multiple plastic bottles. Also couldn't turn the air con display off overnight, meaning the room was lit up and disrupted sleep

Verified reviewGreat location, helpful staff, peaceful beach
Food was very sub-par particularly compared to similar hotels on praslin and mahe. The buffet food at breakfast and dinner was pretty bad. A la carte food was acceptable at best. Room decor is drab, no style, bad lighting

Verified reviewGreat location on a good beach and close to town, and the ferry docks. Clean, spacious rooms with great views.
Food was fairly substandard and particularly at the price point. (e.g.cold pizza with sparse toppings, on a bread dough rather than pizza dough base). Coffee and tea provided free in the rooms except for the 4 provided pods of Nespresso, charged at about $4 each. At the overall price of a nights stay, I would think that removing this pricing irritant wouldn't break the bank! Pro tip: the Duc de Praslin further up the beach has infinitely better F&B offerings at way better value. Very weak/intermittent wi-fi
