How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe guest house was fantastic and totally exceeded our expectations. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. Right opposite and absolutely gorgeous beach and close to shops and restaurants. I don't think we could have picked anywhere better to stay. Staff were really pleasant and they put a lovely message in our room for celebrating our honeymoon.

Verified reviewGreat location, very nice garden, near the beach, beautiful view from the balcony,close to the shops and restaurants, comfortable beds, very nice host.
The equipment in the kitchen is quite old, the AC could be cleaned since moldy smell coming from it. Beach looks beautiful but we were not comfortable swimming there since stingrays occure there and the visibility of the water at the shore is not good .

Verified reviewWe stayed on the top floor in the two-bedroom apartment. Brilliant quality accommodation. Spacious with nice décor and high quality furnishings. Really comfortable. You get a bit of noise from the village but it never seemed to go late and it didn’t bother us. We also didn’t find an issue with the road as I read in a couple of reviews. Welcoming staff and nice friendly security guy. Welcome drinks and cold flannels in the fridge for our arrival which was a nice touch. This is a great place to stay on Praslin. Nowhere on Praslin is very big, that’s its charm, but Anse Volbert has a decent size village with a fair few shops and places to stay. This is just a few mins walk from L’hirondelle. We really liked Les Lauriers for dinner and Le Mer takeaway.

Verified reviewSpacious and well-decorated rooms, with a great view over the beach. Smoothies and 2 bottles of water already in the fridge upon our check-in. Very attentive staff, decorating the room with flowers every day. Very close to the beach and to minimarkets, take-away places etc. Convenient parking space available in front of the hotel. Beach towels provided daily.
Some appliances were a bit rusty. The rooms were spotlessly cleaned every day, but a few ants did manage to find their way in. No elevator (to be expected), but having to carry luggage yourself in upper floors was a little bit tiresome. No shampoo and shower gel provided, which would be expected considering the price and the rest of the amenities.

Verified reviewVery nice and spacious room with an equipped kitchen. I especially liked the close proximity to the beach (just have to cross the street). Staff was helpful and friendly, the night guard even helped us with receiving our delayed baggage that arrived late in the evening. The guesthouse is also close to the bus stop and to many restaurants, supermarkets and an ATM.

The bed was a bit too soft, but other than that we had an amazing stay.

Verified reviewThis is the best accomodation on the best island. The hotel is almost on the beach. And beach is amazing. For swimming and relax we like it more then Ans Lacio. Wonderful excursion to Curios with dinner and snorkeling. Creol dinner -it must have. Helpful stuff. I highly recommend it is the best where we live on 3 islands.

Low flexibility in the last day for a shower. It was requested to pay an extra to use the "guest shower" after the check out. 😐
Thank you for taking time to write a review. I believe that you may have misunderstand us, we charge extra if you want to keep the apartment for a late check out. Clients can otherwise keep their luggage in our storage facility and shower at the reception bathrooms. This service is free of charge.

Verified reviewBeautiful views from the second floor apartment and everything was very clean. The unit had everything we needed in the kitchen. The staff was vey friendly and helpful and they even have a security guard at night who was super nice. The location is perfectly located right in front of Cote D'or Beach with parking right in front of the property and it is in walking distance of a good supermarket and the best Take Away in our opinion from all 3 islands which is Ma's Takeaway.

-Our room was in the second floor. We had to handle our heavy luggages alone 2 floors as no staff is there to help, while just arriving from long trip. - The breakfast experience proposed by the hotel at the appartement where staff are coming to prepare for you was not worth it.

Indeed, we don't have butler service for our guests, therefore, while we help as much as we can, like in many other hotels need to take their luggage. Our guests have the choice of trying our delicious and generous breakfast, or of course, to prepare it themselves in our well provided kitchen. Breakfast can always be booked on a daily basis.

Verified reviewVery comfortable apartment.it got cleaned properly everyday.organizing rental cars and so on worked without a problem. Lot of excursions start at the beach in front of L'Hirondelle.
Look, I know the Seychelles aint cheap,but raraely have I ever witnessed a worse case of robbery than what they wanted to charge me for a single use of the laundry service...25 Euros.

This is in fact for Seychelles, whereby you would be charged per item a minimum of 3 Euros per item, a very reasonable price.
