How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

They could invest more in the facilities as the bathroom was very outdated. Also, the bed was very small and not that comfortable. WiFi does not work in the dedicated area. Overpriced cocktails but overall good food in the restaurant, also a bit overpriced.

Verified reviewThe staff was very helpful with hiring a car, getting a simcard. The manager went above and beyond to make sure we are comfortable. The bar and restaurant staff were very sweet too.
No Wifi in the rooms. The rooms look they have not been renovated in a while.

Verified reviewThe staff were exceptional, them going out of their way to make us feel welcome all the time and making my birthday a special day as well. We had dinner twice at the restaurant and the price and the food were good.
The WiFi is not available in the rooms which is not a problem but the signal in the lounge and at the bar was very poor and we ended using costly roaming instead. The price of cocktails at the bar was quite higher than at other places we had drinks.

Verified review- great breakfast when included in booking. - staff were really good with organising taxis and any tours you need. - all the staff were very kind and polite.
The property is about a 25 minute walk from the closest Mini Mart, which means you buy most of your food and drink directly from the hotel. This would be okay if they charged a reasonable price for the food and drinks. But they do not. - water is about $8 AUD for a normal sized plastic bottle, and due to the heat you need about 3-4 of these per day per person. They gave us 2 bottles of water when we got their and the rest of the stay you had to either pay $8 for a sip of water or decide to walk 30minutes or get a $25 taxi. Massive rip off. Everywhere else on the island charges standard prices for water. - beers were about $15 and cocktails about $30-$35 at the bar. We ended up buying all our drinks from the minimart and drinking them near our room. The property itself was quite expensive, and the pool area is very run down, the price of the property doesn’t add up I don’t think. Mainly, because the hotel is not in the heart of Seychelles and it’s hard to get to places, it makes you think the owners are taking advantage of this by making the prices of everything at the hotel so high because they know they can get away with it.

If you felt duped . Beers are 100.00 which is € 6.00 not €15.00. Cocktails are SCR 150.00 which is about €9.00 not €35.00. You may have been duped by a poor rate of exchange on the beach. The € 8.00 water price you quote is for San Pellegrino imported from Italy alps . Cheaper water from the Vallai de Mai is € 4.50 per 750 litter . Our location which it seems you overlooked is actually an endemic forest with mountains , forest , plateau , beaches with an abundance of nature . This makes our location a premium Peaceful , safe location , away from traffic , bus stops , markets , drug dens , hustlers . It is a trade off . Book a room in town 3 mins by car but 20 mins on foot , you will have an alternate experience .

Verified reviewPicturesque place to hideaway. Beautiful nature, quiet and peaceful place. Great and helpful staff. Special thanks to Maish. Breakfasts are not very diverse, but still good. Location is fine. Just 5 minutes drive from jetty.
Perhaps WiFi in bungalow would be nice.

Verified reviewThe lake view but you can't swim there as it's full of seagrasses. The staff was friendly.
No Wi-Fi signal at the room, only at the area of the swimming pool. The breakfast was unacceptable. The dinner was truly expensive. No lights at the path for the room, we had to use a flashlight. The space of the turtles is dirty, and it was smelling too badly. We are sorry for the turtles. Towels of the rooms were dirty with signs. The bed mattress was unacceptable, as we lay down to the bed and our back touched the bed boards. It was an expensive hotel compared to the amenities which provide to us.

Verified reviewThe place is beautiful and calm and is a natural reserve. Amit took very good care of me, he helped me plan my trip and was my reference for whatever I needed. The staff were all very helpful as well. The chef made me vegan food daily. I felt very well taken care of. Highly recommend if you want a peaceful stay.
The place is lightly dimmed as it is a natural reserve. I am personally a fan of lively places but I made the hotel my base and explored seychelles. It's great value for mone.
