How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewEverything was great during my stay. I was welcomed as soon as I arrived, which was really nice. The room was beautiful, clean, and even decorated with flowers — a really nice touch. The location is great, close to everything you need. Just make sure to have a bike — you can get one directly there or rent one in town, which is easy. Tahiri was super friendly and helpful with anything I needed. Really appreciated that. Would definitely recommend. Can't wait to go back! 🤩
Only thing: there were ants. But to be fair, I stayed in a few places around Seychelles, and they all had ants. Just don’t leave food out and you’ll be fine.

It feels as if you are in the center of the island and halfway to any destination. - Hosts were very welcoming, helpful, thoughtful and kind. Special thanks goes to Tahiri for making us feel so very welcome. - Pool in the middle is very welcome at the end of your day. - Fantastic takeaway food right next to your room. - We got a very good price to rent bikes right on the premises. - Brealfast was tasty, light, yet filling.

Verified reviewI enjoyed the breakfast, the amenities like the ac, fridge, the possibility of bike rental and the friendliness of the hostess
The shower temperature and pressure are very unstable, the ac works poorly, somebody came in the room and switched the ac off twice with a second remote. Sound isolation is poor so you could hear everything outside like other people passing by.

Verified reviewView from the veranda in another building where breakfast is offered over a steep hill with lush forest of tall trees. Tasty coffee. There is a convenient take away kitchen in the area, so you can get tasty and cheap meals from 12 to 14 and from 18 to 20. Tiny swimming pool was very handy during hot days.
The room had defective air conditioning. After intervention it took nearly 2 hours to repair it. Similarly, there was a problem with operating a TV set. There was no explanation how to operate it. In addition, the bicycles offered were not in good shape as in one the saddle held weakly and in another one the metal bike rack unscrewed and fell off. I had to secure it with a tape from my backpack and return from the trip. Breakfast was just very poor, two eggs, one tiny sausage or alternatively one slice of processed melted cheese, some bread, slices of fruits and a piece of cake.

Verified reviewWe had an amazing stay at this guesthouse! Our host, Tahiri, was incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel very welcome. The room was spacious, and the large, comfortable bed ensured a great night’s sleep. The breakfast was excellent, with some variation each day - fresh fruits, bread, and several egg options, more than enough to start the day well. The bike rental was also great - modern, well-maintained bikes at a fair price, perfect for exploring the island. The location was convenient, just a 5-minute bike ride from the harbor. There are a few supermarkets and takeaways close by, including one right next to the guesthouse. We also appreciated the recommended shuttle transfer to and from the ferry - it was definitely worth taking instead of walking with luggage. Highly recommended!

Verified reviewAbsolutely beautiful property, charming hosts, perfectly clean room, bathroom, gardens, pool, everything. Tahiri does everything she possibly could to cater to your every need. A/C works very well. Bicycles for rent are in good shape and well looked after. The room is spacious and lovely. You can change the color of the ceiling lights by turning them on and off multiple times, every time the lighting warmth changes (same goes for the light on the terrace). Nice bathroom, plenty hit water. Room cleaning every two days, except you ask for extra cleaning. (Don't forget to leave a tip for the cleaner). Good breakfast (08:00 - 09:30 a.m.), free water for the rooms (just ask after breakfast for new water bottle). The pool is nice and quite warm, so you can stay in for hours if you want. They have a big Coco de Mer palmtree in the garden of Calou Guesthouse (where you'll be arriving and having breakfast every morning) right next door. Because I stayed for two weeks (usually people stay much shorter) I got a free transfer from and to the jetty on La Digue (usually you have to pay for this). The location is just perfect, right at the foot of the central mountain, very quiet and relaxed. The Island is so small that it really doesn't make much of a difference where you're located anyway, everywhere is close to all beaches, no place is further than 20 minutes by bicycle away. To Grand Anse, in my opinion by far the most beautiful beach (together with the 4 neighbors Petite, Coco and Caiman) on the island, it is 10 minutes on bike. I recommend this Guesthouse whole heartedly and wanna thank Tahiri and the rest of the people there for an amazing time and their excellent service ❤️❤️🙋🏼
Everything was perfect
