How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewAn absolutely wonderful stay here at Buisson Guesthouse. Such a warm welcome from Doris and lots of very helpful tips and friendly chat. Doris kindly sorted us out with bike rental at half the price of other providers. Excellent room with a great deal of care taken over presentation. Very clean - everything spotless. Excellent breakfast in the morning with pancakes, omelettes, a fruit platter, etc. A truly first rate experience. Thank you so much!
Nothing - it was perfect!

Verified reviewThe room was clean and lovely. The bathroom area was nice and spacious. We rented bikes directly from the guesthouse. They did not change gears, but they got us around the island. Breakfast was delicious and we certainly did not go hungry! We really enjoyed visiting with Doris and Charles during our stay! They were so kind to allow us to leave our luggage at the property on the day we departed since we had a later ferry. They even have an outdoor shower so we could clean up before our departure. I would not hesitate to stay at Buisson Guesthouse!

Verified reviewWe liked the garden, we felt like as if we’re on a small village, very clean rooms and delicious breakfast. The hosts were also welcoming and helpful, also quite talkative. Nice shower outside the rooms so that you can get the sand off of you.
There are quite a lot of roosters around so if someone has a “weak” sleep then he might get easily woken up in the morning. The way into the guesthouse is quite sketchy - through some shady neighbourhood: The hosts were kind, however, as accurate to previous reviews left there - there was once a moment where one of them made a mistake when counting our expenses at their place, therefore, count before yourself to make sure you don’t get overcharged. Also, although it’s of course not their responsibility, the host didn’t allow us to take a little bit of water from their water dispenser, and I know that if I was in such place, I would act more humane. Otherwise, all good.

Verified reviewI don't think words can describe how charming the Buisson Guesthouse is. As its name suggests - it's a guesthouse, so if you are expecting resort standards, this isn't for you. As they have only 3 units, you encounter very few people - it's very suitable for those looking for peace and quiet and some privacy. We found the Buisson Guesthouse to be as authentic as it gets. It's located conveniently a walking distance from the ferry and shops in La Passe. It's situated in a residential neighborhood, surrounded by lush tropical trees, a variety of flora. The garden is amazing. WOW! I sat in the dining area and I could spot birds and endemic reptiles like geckos and other lizards. The room was wonderful - clean, quiet, air conditioned, with a large refrigerator, and a comfy mattress. The wifi was the fastest we had throughout our Seychelles trip. Breakfast was a real delight. You can also ask for dinner if you'd like. We asked for bicycles for our stay for an additional fee. We used the bikes to get around the island. I'd say it's necessary (we saw people walking - what took us 10 min. took them 30 or more to reach the same places...). The hosts - Doris and Charles are wonderful people. Very attentive, interesting and warm people. They helped us with questions we had and gave us some practical tips regarding the island which made a difference. They also have toilets and a shower on the premises (outside the rooms) for those who have already checked out and need to refreshen. It was a shame we had to leave. La Digue is an amazing place. I would return to the Seychelles for a longer stay on La Digue and specifically at the Buisson Guesthouse.
It was simply perfect.

Verified reviewFantastic contact with the owners, they are very helpful. We sailed from Mahe for one night to La Digue and the next day we returned to Mahe and here we could rent a bike, the price was the best comparing to other points in the center of the island, after check-out, when we returned the bikes in the evening before the return trip we could still take a shower which is very much appreciated. everything is very well maintained, in the room as well as outside. The room is not huge, but very clean and there is everything what you need. Outside, the garden looks beautiful, and the breakfast is really great, I liked it very much. I really rate the whole thing very positively.

Verified reviewWe have had a wonderful stay at Buisson Guesthouse. The staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable, making us feel right at home. Also at Buisson best breakfast in La Dique were served - homemade and delicious! Furthermore, Buisson offers to rent a bike in a good price, which is needed for transportation on the island. Highly recommended!

Verified reviewWe have used this accommodation for my birthday. Doris, the host, was amazing. We have appreciated very much her availability to answer any questions we have asked regarding the island, places to go etc. The room offered was sparkling clean. It was nice to eat breakfast on the terrace, surrounded by tropical trees. The bikes rented from the property for 100 SCR/day helped us reach any place we wanted on this beautiful island. We would consider rebooking when going back.

Verified reviewAll the staff were so helpful and nice. The breakfast is amazing (just try to not overeat on all the delicious treats). The location is really good, quiet but within 5 minutes walking distance to the main town and jetty. You get beach towels, umbrella, a/c. The little outdoor kitchen is equipped quite good. On your checkout day you can leave your luggage and use toilets/bathroom when you get back to get it. We just stayed for two nights, would have definitely stayed longer if we could!
Bring mosquito repellent if you wanna sit outside!!!
