How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe stuff was very friendly and polite and also helped us organising transfers etc. a boutique hotel, as we don’t prefer the huge ones where you get lost. Very familiar, we enjoyed also the pool as we have small kids and the restaurant was also nice!

Verified reviewThe welcome was excellent — the young women at the reception were very friendly and made us feel comfortable right away. The room was beautiful and spacious, with a very comfortable bed, and the whole setting of the hotel was charming. I also really enjoyed the extra facilities: a tennis court, a pool table to have fun, and even a tortoise on site — truly fabulous! Dinner at the hotel was also very good, and the servers were friendly and attentive.
the lighting in the room could be improved, and the toilets were quite poor compared to the rest of the hotel. Given the price of the stay, I believe more effort should be made on this aspect.

Verified reviewThe staff were amazing, they couldn’t do enough for us. Our room included breakfast, and the choice every day was brilliant. The room itself was extremely comfortable - we were 2 adults and had the family garden room fit for 4 people, so we had ample space. The pool in the garden area was brilliant - very calm and relaxing.
Extremely expensive for what it is. We paid £1300ish for 4 nights. The gym is a tiny room with a treadmill and a bench, but no weights. The drinks - €10 minimum per cocktail. I am more than happy to pay €10 per drink when they are good drinks. The “cocktails” were the kind of cocktails you would receive at an all inclusive package hotel.

Verified reviewThe room was very spacious, clean and as described. The pool was beautiful and the restaurant was great!
The beach was not really big enough for laying out and due to the time of year, wasn’t suitable for swimming due to waves and seaweed.

Verified reviewNice and quiet area, very friendly staff, free tennis court,
Bathroom curtains causing flood after every shower, dark rooms and not very clean, personally think it was low quality breakfasts for the value we have paid.

Verified reviewThe staff were nice except one of the breakfast waiters, made eye contact with us the whole time we were eating and kept standing infront of us while we’re eating, was rude when we talked with him but when another family or person talked, he had all smiles on his face.
It wasn’t clean. Service was absolutely horrible. Couldn’t bring towels, no room service, need to pay for every single small thing, and the rules don’t make sense.

Verified reviewBliss Hotel stands out with its consistent beach house style, creating a bright, welcoming atmosphere throughout the property. The rooms are tastefully decorated and visually very appealing. Breakfast was relatively simple, but we especially appreciated the live cooking station where fresh egg dishes were made to order
Unfortunately, during our stay in June, the hotel’s beach was heavily affected by seaweed, making swimming in the sea practically impossible. The shower setup in the room was also poorly designed — due to the lack of a partition or curtain, the bathroom would get soaked every time someone showered. What bothered us the most, however, was the situation around the garden pool (not the beachside pool): people who were clearly neither hotel guests nor staff, as well as hotel employees, regularly passed through this area to use the nearby restroom. This constant foot traffic disrupted the feeling of privacy and exclusivity in the pool area, to the point that we chose to use the bathroom in our room instead.

Verified reviewThe breakfast was very poor and insufficient – even the fruits were not fresh. The towels in the room smelled terrible and were completely discolored. The pool was dirty and not well maintained. When we asked for just a 30-minute late check-out, they demanded an extra fee and rudely refused by saying, "It’s written in the contract you signed." The sea was not suitable for swimming at all, so we had to go to other beaches. Overall, very disappointing.

Verified reviewBeautiful hotel very well located on the rather calm area of Praslin with easy connection to all the beautiful beaches and the Vallée de May as well as Fond Ferdinand. The staff is very welcoming, nice and professional. Our room was right in front of the beach which provided a fantastic view as soon as we opened the curtains. Tea and cakes are provided by the swimming pool at tea-time - delicious!
The hotel restaurant was a lot more expensive than the local restaurants nearby that provide tasteful dishes (we loved the evenings at the Zilwa reggae bar!)
