How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewPlace very near the jetty. Apartments were spacious and kitchen equipped with basic kitchen wares.
Not so many places to eat near this location, it is a bit further from touristic locations.

Verified reviewAbsolutely wonderful hosts who made us feel at home right away! Welcomed with a home-made drink and a cold towel after dragging our suitcases uphill, a lovely chat and a tour of the apartment. They also helped us book some things like a taxi and a tour of Curieuse. Everything they booked for us was exceptional! Views from the apartment are breathtaking. The supermarket is just a 5 minute stroll and the bus stop is right at the bottom of the hill from the apartment. (you can buy a rechargeable bus card at the supermarket and charge it there). Good to know, if you don't drive a car like us, you can walk from the Jetty to the apaetment (about 15-20 mins) We were sad to leave but excited to continue our trip to La Digue.

Verified reviewWe had a wonderful stay on Praslin! The apartment was exactly as described – clean, spacious, and well-equipped. The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming, they explained everything to us and made us feel right at home. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, including small essentials like oil, salt, and pepper, which was a nice touch. As a lovely surprise, they also gifted us fresh papayas, bananas, and delicious homemade jam. Highly recommended – we would love to come back!
One thing to note: the apartment is located on a hill, which gives you an amazing view – absolutely worth it! But keep in mind that the climb can be a bit challenging for some people. It was totally fine for us, but it might be difficult for those with mobility issues.

Verified reviewOwner welcomed us with amazing cold non alkoholic drink and refreshing Towel. After long trip this is what we needed. Good idea for People who travels more than 15 hours. Both owners were very kind and cooperative. Seeing someone smiling after long travel makes other happy. Owners definitely making sure that their tourists are feeling comfortable. The guest house is in a very noisy neighbourhood at night-time and the view is marred by the immediate surroundings, which are extremely messy. Ants were everywhere in the kitchen, there was no hot water at all in the place, the electric shower did not produce hot water nor good pressure and neither the sink nor shower in the bathroom drained! All of the lights in the house are also very harsh, making evenings in unpleasant.

It was a pleasure to host you, and hope that in spite of your unjustifiable review of the property that you have enjoyed your stay with us. And also have took home beautiful memories of your holidays. On your early checking time the apartment was ready, you did'nt want to share the same room. You asked us two bedsheets for the other bed in the other room. I never put my guest outdoor laundry area. Normally i put the guests under the apartment veranda and give them refreshment, towels and welcome dinks. If by any means there were noise, but we live next door to the guest house we did not hear any things I take the opportunity to apologies for the inconvenience. It's the first time our guest complain about the views. Every day we clean the apartment we did not see ants in the kitchen. There is hot water in the shower, in case you did not received hot water, maybe there was a power cut on the island, but it's beyond our control. At the end of each departures we checked everything in the apartment is working properly. And the Same day of your departure we ask you if you have enjoy your stay with us .You give us a good responsed. We look forward to welcome you back again in the future. Verified reviewAmazing apartment! We loved everything about it and stayed for six nights. It was very clean and the appartment was cleaned everyday while we were exploring the beautiful island. We spend every night on the porch with a beautiful view and watched the fruit bets flying by. Gilda and her husband are angels and really care about you and your stay. They even got my boyfriend a cake for his birthday and gave us good suggestions on what to do on Praslin. They make a phone call for you, in case you need a reservation for a excursion. They were very thoughtful and always had smiles on their faces. We were allowed to use the washing machine at any time so we always had fresh towels at the beach. The location of the apparent is also really good because you can reach every part of the island in less than 30 minutes. If we can we will definitely come back.

Verified reviewWe spent 3 nights in Belle Rose vue and every day was a special experience. I started to get up earlier to see the sunrise, to have breakfast on a balcony with a breathtaking view. This place felt like home and we absolutely loved it. The hosts are very warm and ready to help you any time you need it. I definitely recommend this guest house and look forward to come back.
