Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaThe hotel is simple, comfortable and functional, just what we needed. It is a ten minute walk from the centre of town and is located off a leafy avenue. When we tried to depart on our trip we found all the major roads closed for an event and had no idea where to go. We returned to the hotel to ask directions. This proved to be very complicated so the owner interupted her breakfast and drove ahead of us through a number of back roads to the outskirts of town. This was invaluable as we had a time limit to get to our destination. Great service.

Fantastic hotel. Probably the best in Kigali. The hotel is an oasis of calm in the middle of the city. We were in Kigali for a conference and we looked forward to returning to the hotel every day to relax in the beautiful garden by the pool. All the rooms have a balcony overlooking the gardens. It's worth paying a small amount extra for the superior rooms which are really very nice. Breakfast is expensive for Kigali but the chef will make you your preferred style of eggs. One thing we particularly appreciated was the excellent communication before our arrival. As a large group, we had multiple changes in the number of rooms and set-ups required, but the manager and staff were very accommodating. The location is also great - in the centre of town and opposite the Hotel Les Milles Collines. We liked the hotel so much, we booked it again when we came back through Kigali.

United KingdomAlthough there are restaurants nearby, there is no restaurant in the hotel for an evening meal. The pool is pretty small.
Beautiful gardens, lovely space to have breakfast, and sit during the day. Room was large, and had everything I needed. Really friendly staff.

United KingdomBreakfast not included but they accommodated our family well. Double bed nets didn't quite fit and single nets possibly needed cleaning. No view from our room or AC but didn't need it. TV only had one channel available.
Very central location, 5 minite walk to Central area. Our 2 kids enjoyed the pool and resident parrots. Breakfast was good. Clean and very quiet location, staff super helpful.

BelgiumThe breakfast is grossly overpriced ($15). It's not worth that money at all. Do not fall for this trap. Walk down to the centre, it's just 10 minutes walking, there are plenty of eating places there and you can eat more and better than this hotel, paying $5 or less.
This is a great place, ran by very friendly and helpful staff. Great location too. The rooms are huge, and include a large living room and a large room, plus a terrace with view to the swimming pool. The price is reasonable, for this type of facilities, although is more expensive than the the average hotel in Rwanda (which does not have facilities as good as this one, so the price is fair).

NetherlandsThere is no restaurant. If you have time to dine out, this is not an issue. The local app to order food in, is not available for non-African mobile phone numbers. The bed was hard, like in many African hotels.
Great spacious room (no.14) with its own little terrace. Nice view on the garden, so a nice quiet place in the city. Close by a supermarket.

Germany- the breakfast was too expensive for its value (15USD p.Person/Day) - except for the well stocked fridge in the room with drinks there was no other way to purchase drinks on the premise.

United StatesThe breakfast selection did not seem worth the cost, and not having coffee available all day was a bummer. The bottled drinks in my mini fridge had mold on the labels, like they'd either been in there a long time and/or they had been in the fridge when it was turned off and condensation caused the labels to mold. I also noticed something weird growing on the inside of the bottle of red wine I had, but because the bottle and the wine were both dark, I only saw it after I had already drank it.
I felt very safe, being a woman traveling alone. The fresh espresso was excellent. The pool and garden area are spectacularly beautiful. I loved having a balcony overlooking the garden/pool. I greatly appreciated the airport shuttle service; the shuttle driver was really kind and was even willing to drive me around the city. The location is great; having a mall with a grocery store and cafes within walking distance was awesome. The gentleman at the lobby desk on the night shift was also genuinely friendly and helpful. One of the parrots said hello to me, which was a nice laugh.
