The room lacked the tea set/coffee machine and the toilet needs renovation.

The staff is very nice and welcoming. We were very happy with the dining at the hotel's restaurant.

Showers took a while to heat up, and in one of the two rented rooms the window did not open fully. It was ok since it was not very hot but in other circumstances i can see it being a problem. Wireless internet was probably shared for the entire building since it was very slow in the evening and normal speed in the morning.

Great location it is the starting point of many mountain hikes right and it is situated between two major attraction points Vidraru dam and Balea lake. The rooms are quite large with a twin bed a mini fridge and a closet. Bed was very comfortable and there are enough blankets for colder evenings. There is the hotel bar and also a vending machine at the entrance for drinks and snacks.

Really delicious traditional food, coffee latte and breakfast was perfect, location of bungalows is right near the beautyfull river, that was great!

There is another hotel building under construction nearby and the noise of the work certainly creates some inconvenience. But this is only temporary….

Great location, for those making trip via Transfagaras in two stage, just at the halfway point about. The altitude of the site is 1200 metres above sea level. Friendly staff helped with accommodation. Very clean and comfortable rooms withe a great views of the mountains. I should note that not all rooms in the hotel have a good view. The restaurant is not continuously open. There is breakfast time, lunch time and from 17.00 to 22.00 dinner time. The food is similar to home cooked food. The hotel has cabins with barbecue facilities, many guests used it extensively. Hotel Siesta is a wonderful place for a vacation.

Great accommodation to explore Transfagarasam! I stayed for three nights to have plenty of time to take a ride on the Transfagarasam.

A very nice place to stay in the mountains. Extremely close by car to Lake Balea (about 15-20 min drive) and the highest part of Transfagarasan. Fresh air, comfortable beds and a peaceful atmosphere. There is a relatively large parking lot, sufficient for all guests. The hotel also has a restaurant where you can have dinner or lunch.

The perfect place for a holiday in Transfagarasan. The mountain is close, the lake is close and stunning nature on the veranda. The rooms are spacious and clean and the people are warm as summer weather.

Honestly, everything was so good and amazing

It was such a nice place to stay, every people we met here was happy to tell us everything we needed to know in a very friendly and polite way. The food was so good, it was the only place in Romania where we found local tea (linden, chamomile). The room was so cozy and very clean, the towels smells amazing, the bed comfortable and the sheets so soft. If by any chance you forgot your toothbrush or you need a soap or any other stuff, you find a little corner where you can buy it. You can also buy an amazing jam (made by them), “palinca” in a very cute bottle. Thank you guys for this short but amazing stay😋

The food in the restaurant was poor and definitely not homemade, rather the fast food from the fridge. After the visiting that place (house shale #1), after 1-2 days we noticed a lot of red spots on our legs… As locals told us - it was the bedbugs bites… It sometimes happens in Romania. So I strongly recommend the administration of the hotel - take care of the bedbugs in house number 1. It was really unexpectedly for us…

A good view, the river is very close, so you can hear it all the time. Free parking, a lot of free spaces every time. Good place, close to the Transfagarasan. Stuff was polite and with a good English.

Nicolae (apologies for the spelling) was an amazing host and a good laugh, providing us with information about the area and on local Romanian traditions and food! Besides this the location was amazing! The food was great and the room was very clean and spacious.

Location is amazing, you're in the middle of nature. There's also a stream of water passing close to the hotel which makes the experience even better as you can hear the relaxing sound of the water when you open windows. The room was great. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The food at the restaurant is also tasty.

The hotel is located in the middle of a superb mountain environment, close to the Arges creek, at the foothill of the mount Lespezi. The hosts are warm and friendly, ready to offer any detail about the touristic attractions in the area. The restaurant is decorated with great taste, including rustic elements and modern items, nicely exhibited. The menu is generous and the dishes are tasty. We enjoyed all meals, from breakfast to dinner. The room was spacious, clean and luminous, with a nice view to the creek in front of the hotel. We very much enjoyed our stay (it was not our first time, actually) and we warmly recommend this hotel.

We stayed in one of the separate houses near the river, which we would highly recommend. The environment is very peaceful and beautiful, and the staff friendly and helpful.

I saw Google photos prior to arriving and was a bit worried and made the wrong choice - it looked very worn out. In reality, the photos on Booking were more accurate than Google. The room was spacious, in good condition and smelt heavenly. Thermostatic heaters kept us warm at night. The restaurant was simple but good.

The furniture inside the room is rather old and outdated and would need some replacement.

Nice hotel on the Trans-Fagaras pitoresque auto route. The room is comfortable. Check-in is possible until 23:00, when you call, the owner is cooperative and a solution to pick up the key can also be found when you arrive late at night. There is a restaurant in the hotel and as the owners want to promote the restaurant, as a hotel guest, you would also get served, when you arrive 23:00 even if the restaurant is closed for public at that time. As a general hint, if you want to enjoy the mountains and the Bâlea surroundings, never visit these places during public holidays/ weekends or school vacation season. It's extremely full and the street is overcrowded, so that you may need to wait for 3 hours to pass.
