“The staff was super friendly and helpful. The restaurant service was very good and the food great. Very good value for money”

  • “Beautiful little house, perfectly designed”

  • “The cabins are in the center of Santa Maria close to everything. The breakfast was delicious with warm attention from the owner of the place The place, although located in the center of Santa Maria, is super quiet and perfect for relaxing. The staff is truly friendly and helpful, always attentive to any questions, concerns, or needs you might have as a guest. Excellent communication and service, and the place is new and super nice, and it meets all the requirements and more.”

  • Trogon Lodge Review score: 10

“Beautiful lodge with absolutely stunning gardens filled with deliciously smelling flowers and odorant blossom trees and avocado trees - thus also full of colibris and even quetzals. Paradise in the cloudforest! All staff go out of their way for guests and are extremely professionnal, courteous and kind. On a rainy and chilly night we came back to hot water bottles on our beds and appreciated the attention so much. A special mention should be given to the landscaping and gardening staff thanks to whom the place is such an Eden. I hope they get regular raises! Rooms were comfy and spotlessly clean, the breakfast delicious and plentiful and the other meals we took there were also excellent. The café also has some lovely choices.”

  • Lauraceas Lodge Review score: 10

“Best beds in Costa Rica! Very friendly staff in the restaurant. Helped us to get a quetzal guide where we did see them! Restaurant food is good for a good price. The room was beautiful and more then worth of the money.”

  • Paraíso Quetzal Lodge Review score: 8

“Paraíso Quetzal Lodge is an absolutely amazing place and I would definitely recommend going there. The cloud forest is every bit as beautiful as in Monteverde, and there are several spectacular trails. I would especially recommend going there if you are into birds, as there are a lot of high elevation species not found elsewhere. The hummingbird feeders are spectacular. The quetzal can be seen but don't expect that as it's not a zoo. There are tours offered to see it at another location nearby, a good addition would be a guided birding tour directly on the premises. Bear in mind that you will feel the altitude of 2700m and walking in the steep terrain is slower than you are used to. Outstanding is the friendliness of the staff, who do a very good job. And the food is among the best we had in Costa Rica!”

  • “Really great staff, beautiful trail system and stunning location. We didn't have time to sample the food due to our busy schedule, but less vegan options there than at other lodges we stayed at.”

  • Curuba Lodge Review score: 10

“We loved to stay at Curuba lodge on our way from the carribean coast to the pacific coast. the cabinas are very comfortable. we enjoyed the heater in the cabin because it get's really cold during the night! the breakfast and the dinner were delicious and the staff so friendly. we hope to come back again and to stay for more than one night!”

  • Los Lagos Lodge Review score: 10
