“Nice, simple rooms for paid value. Clean. Hot water in shower which is quite spacious. Location of the Hotel is ideal for short walks to most of the attractions.
Parking is near the Hotel and it is free (as long as there are space). The town is quite and not crowded so I believe parking space should not be a case.
Main balcony on 3rd floor have very nice view for morning coffe/evening wine chill time.”
“The location is great, with nice nature and private beach. The house was clean and modern, almost all necessary facilities were there. The stuff was very friendly.”
“This is a wonderful place to stay in with family. The houses are equipped with everything you may need and more, the activities that are offered are great, everything is clean and beautiful. I was amazed!”
“A perfect place to experience culture a bit different from the rest of Latvia with really friendly people and hotel reminding of a Soviet time county centre rooms looking like dormitory from a bygone era.
Great value for money with all the necessary in place and really good restaurant at the basement.”
“The host is a nice lady who waited for me although I arrived late on a bicycle. She has a nice house and next to it is a sauna building, on the second floor of which is the sleeping space. The bathroom, shower and toilet are all on the first floor so you need to take the (outside) stairs to reach them. The upstairs sleeping area is pretty spacious, there is one living room-type larger room with a sink, and one smaller sleeping room with two beds. If you were reading the previous review and think that the beds are old or dirty, well not anymore, this issue has been fixed by the host and the bed and sheets were nice and clean. I slept very well there, as the house is located in a small village close to the Russian border, but there is basically no traffic through the border post in the village nowadays. The village itself is interesting to explore for a bit to see some archaic houses and an old Orthodox church meters from the border post. There are very few accommodation options nearby so I would say Elen is a neat budget option, a great stop also for cyclists who are smart and are taking the much more interesting Eastern route through the Baltic countries instead of the narrow and busy highway in the West.”
