    “Lovely peaceful place”

“We had the privilege the stay in this lovely guest house - perfectly located in a tranquil area, within walking distance from the Gadara sight. It is a well-equiped, nicely decorated, charming small house with a beautiful garden overlooking the village and the hills around. The breakfast was also delicious. But no experience in Umm Qais is complete without Ahmad's highly professional guidance - he is well-known to be the best guide in the area, and there is a reason for his reputation. In a very reasonable arrangement, we have not only managed to learn the formal history of the area but also gained insights from someone who actually used to live in the site and later also participated in the preservation efforts. Our stay and the short morning tour with Ahmad in the site was truly a highlight of our entire trip in Jordan.”

“Beautiful house in an amazing location on a hillside overlooking the Pella ruins. The house and location were both so atmospheric and it really felt like you had escaped from it all. Also, the dinner and breakfast served were the best and the hosts who live a short walk away were very kind. We also recommend the Pella site tour with the female archaeologist guide (sorry forgotten her name!) very informative!”

“This is a lovely place to stay in Um Qais. Everyone is very friendly, the garden and space on general is very nicely done. The food was excellent and we felt very much at home. I would definitely return!”

“Beit Al Fannan is a real gem, we enjoyed everything about the house and every moment we were there. Hamad was welcoming and very helpful throughout, and having breakfast freshly prepared by Um Ammar was a delight. The big terraces provide a stunning view. We could spend hours there reading, drawing, and having snacks, gazing at the changing colours of the surrounding hills and the ruins during the sunset. We also enjoyed listening to and watching little birds making nests around the house. Everywhere is tastefully decorated, from the living room to the bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped (we brought ingredients and cooked dinner ourselves), and the upstairs bedroom was very spacious, and they had added a single bed for our child. We enjoyed discovering how Mr. Ammar Khamash designed and constructed this beautiful place, giving full respect to nature. The house is full of his artwork, and it inspired us to draw and paint while we were there! We plan to go back as soon as we can!”
