“We wish we had stayed longer than 5 days!
Nadine and Tommy were very nice hosts. They offered to pick us up from the airport, offered a lift to go to town or to the beach if they were going. They gave us home-made bread, offered us to pick some fresh fruit from the garden (breadfruit - so yummy, coconut, kumquat, chili...). The garden is so lush, wow!
They built a beautiful wooden house - The Shell House. The house is super spacious for 2 people, nicely decorated. The bed is large enough and pretty comfy. You have everything you need to cook (pan, pot, good kitchen knives, Italian & French coffee makers, toaster, kettle, oven...) with all the basics such as salt, pepper, spices, sugar, coffee, tea, fresh ginger & basil from the garden. (Nadine, I remembered what is missing - napkins & tissus - that's all). You can drink the water from the tap - filtered rain water.
The WiFi is working very well & free.
There is no aircond but the house is well-ventilated with all the windows & fans.
No mosquito inside - all windows have a net.
They made a book with local restaurants, activities, and taxi numbers (Bitun has been the best so far).
Just keep in mind that the house is on the hill - the slope to access it's steepy and rocky, not ideal on foot, it’s slippery. So you need to order a taxi to go out (e.g. $15 to go in town, 5km).
The sea is just down the slope, and after 5 min on the left, there is a beautiful snorkeling spot.
If you like to be far from tourists things, if you like nature and be in a quiet place, go for it! You'll love it.”
“Great location, excellent views but not easy to get to and from (necessary to negotiate 125 plus concrete steps with deep and varying rises and hand rails in need of maintenance making the carriage of luggage and supplies up and down difficult and somewhat precarious limiting its suitability.)”
“Lovely, peaceful location. Very good swimming when you knew where to go. Very nice, well equipped room. Good food. Free airport taxi and we could also book Bablu for trips to nearby places.”
