How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The couple who run this hotel are very friendly and helpful. Rooms spotless with beach towels provided for the swimming pool just across the road. Cheap cafe next door and a nice restaurant just opposite for an evening meal. Definitely recommend to anyone who can walk the small hill up-to hotel .

Great location, not too far from shops and the beach-if you dont mind hills! The owners (lady and gentleman) really friendly and kind! Great air-con in the room, shower was powerful and room cleaned consistently!

The bedroom walls were a tad thin. Mostly it wasn't a problem. If someone came in late, the odd voice could be heard. We take earplugs everywhere we go. I recommend you do the same. all you need to do if someone is loud, go see the lovely couple on the desk and they have words at once and the noise ends. Superb.
Ideally situated to The Old Town. Very clean and tidy throughout. The cleaners were in 6 days out of 7, changed the bed linen and the towels every time. The air-con in the room worked perfectly. The tv had lots of channels. What stood out was the lady a the desk, and when she wasn't there, the chap that replaced her. It's clear they cared about The VilaBranca and they cared about the customers too. Both were approachable and both were really friendly and helpful.

It is very close to the beach which is really nice. There are many restaurants around the area and it’s close to the old town as well. The rooms are comfortable with nice balconies. The owners are really nice people and they’re always nice to talk to.

We were not informed we could use the pool opposite until the day before we were coming home.
Great location 2min walk for pubs ,restaurants .beach.

Everything was great!
The room was lovely, even better than the pictures online! Quite big, plenty of space in the bathroom too. The owners were so kind and happy to accommodate anything we needed! The location is great, just a few minutes walk into the centre of the Old Town but still on a quiet street. Would absolutely stay again, we had a wonderful time.

Have to rent a safe but it’s cheap €10 a week but we didn’t need one as the staff were trustworthy.
Nice clean room and spacious area. Very amazing location right next to beach and the old town local to some nice restaurants. The staff were kind and very helpful always came to a clean room. Owners are kind.

A lovely traditional hotel close to the beach and restaurants. Staff are lovely and helpful! It is spotlessly clean and has everything you need. I will definitely be returning!

There was road construction, and it took us some time to find the right road to get to the place.
Good location. We arrived late in the night and one of the staff misplaced our key to another lockbox. Fortunately, when I called at 1 AM, the host still answered my call so that I could get into my room.

Location is uphill from town centre. Could be problematic if you have trouble with steep roads.

The photos don t do justice to the rooms, they were better in reality. It fitted all our needs, close to the center, cleaned almost every day, very nice and helpful staff (perfect communication in english and fast response), good value for money. We will come back again!

Only one thing that was a bit annoying was the roadworks that were going on, but you can't blame the hosts for that.
The room was spotless. Had everything one person needed. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. I couldn't have asked for more.
