How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewTurquoise is a magical place with just a few rooms. My room was huge, comfortable, and clean. It was very quiet and felt very safe. WIFI was solid. This is an ancient stone building lovingly restored. The hot water was hot and the refrigerator was cold. You would not know it from the quiet of the room but the hubbub of the downtown old city is just steps away. Go out the front door and turn right and you are in for a real treat as you enter the markets with hundreds of small vendors selling everything from vegetables to electric bicycles. The Turquoise open air cafe is upstairs with comfy seating, stupendous city wide views, and solid WIFI. It is a beautifully designed space, a refuge after the city tuckers you out and worthy of hours of relaxation. This was my first visit to Nablus and I loved it. It is energetic, complex, surprising, and safe. The owner of Turquoise speaks excellent English and stayed in instant touch via What's App messaging or by phone to answer any questions about the city. Nablus and Turquoise are fantastic and i highly recommend coming now.
It didn't bother me but the stairs to the rooms and then up to the cafe are steep and narrow. The stone stairs are beautifully restored but they might be a challenge for some people.

Verified reviewExcellent location in the old city, which is fantastic for spending hours exploring the souk and old streets. The building is really lovely and my room had a great view over the rooftops and street. The bed was really comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Farah 🙂
It can get a bit noisy at night due to the rooftop cafe, so bring earplugs if you want an early night; it doesn't go on too late, though.

Verified reviewI love the Turquoise, it is clean, has a kitchen, wash facilities and a beautiful rooftop terrace with a stunning view over Nablus. The boys behind the bar could not be more hospitable and accommodating. Kefaea, the henna artist does intricate, floral designs that stretch to your fingertips and Basal is a charming host and knowledgeable about the history of Nablus, he is well worth spending time with. Then there is Nablus, it’s history is thousands of years old and as you leave the hotel you step on Al nasser/ Khalid Ibn Walid street you are stepping back in time. The Roman settlement of Sebastia is amazing, the Samaritan site on Mount Gerizim will blow your mind and to wonder the markets and back streets is magical. Eat the food, drink the drinks and speak to everyone and see what Palestinian culture has to offer. It’s wonderful.
That I had to leave it? 🤷🏽♂️

Verified reviewFriendly owner, stunning rooftop and restaurant with great sunset view, nicely decorated kitchen and common area. Comfortable location ten minutes away from the bus station and a few minutes away from the old town. There is no AC in the dorm, only two fans - I slept very well anyways.
The bathrooms can be cleaner and better taken care of. No credit cards accepted

Verified reviewAmazing Project and Founders - you have to check this out!
The downstairs beds literally fell apart and I fell through the mattress multiple times because the wood underneath was not secured - also caused backpain when sleeping there

Verified reviewVery nice hostel. The owner and it's crew are amazing people, very friendly, helpful and caring. It is very well located in the beginning of the old city. Easy to move around and visit the area.
The shared bathroom with the restaurant upstairs is not very convenient during busy times, but is not too bad.

Lots of stairs but they helped with our luggage.

Verified reviewWe booked two beds in one of the shared bedrooms, but when we arrived to the hostel they told us there was just one bed available. But there was no problem and instead they gave us one private room with private bathroom for the same price without doubting. The location is excellent if what you want is to be in the heart of the old city. There´s a really nice restaurant in the roof top.

Verified reviewi ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS HOSTEL. It exceeded my expectations. The common area, rooftop area with an amazing view, kitchen and dining area. The rooms are really clean and comfortable and the beds were an absolute dream. The area is so authentic and cultural with the most amazing people, food and everything you'll want to do in town is close by, both attractions and the bus station. The owners will help with anything you need, even if they're not there you can contact on whatsapp
