How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Wifi wasn't strong
We are glad it was a successful stay, we work hard to make this happen. I wish we knew anout the wifi. We have not had reports or issues. Will take a look at it though, thanks for the heads up.

Verified reviewThe location was great. Very close to many options even the one spot that was open until 2 am and the little market that was opened 24 hrs.
Pictures were def. deceiving . Very tiny and bathroom was even smaller than expected. The other guest were very loud 2 nights in a row. Its almost like they took over the common area and didnt care, luckily my firend and I werent home long enough to need the "living room or kitchen area"

They returned my deposit within a few days. Had a great adventure in Puerto Rico. I plan to book this place the next time I return. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience 💜🙏🏽
The last roommate that was there did not clean up after herself in the common areas. She left cooked onions out in 85° heat, which created a spoiled dumpster smell🤮She also left excessive sand in the bathroom. It was my last day so I got over it.

There was no hot water and the bathroom was super small
No better deal in town, fully loaded room with all the amenities you can think of. Hot water always available, I wish you would have reached out. We coukd have explained, it was as simple as opening up the faucet in the other direction. Its marked with an H. We do have a small shower good enough for a nice quick rinse. We do have larger units available.

Verified reviewThe room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Kitchen had the basic to do simple meals which was important to us. The shower/bathroom was small so be careful with your balance. There are foldable chairs and ice box/cooler in the room. So that was handy for us. There is hair dryer and iron so you don't need to worry about that. A side from the small bathroom, we were happy with the place and the price was fair for it.

The staff was slow to respond; I wish there was a lock in the general area of the house, didn’t love knowing anyone could go in, especially since I was alone.
Staff always responds messages in a timely manner. All messages are replied to within the hour at the most unless obviously if its out of our office hours, it then will be responded the next day. For any instant question or support we have a dedicated phone service which is available from 8:30am to 10:00pm. Regarding the lock in the common area it was removed due to maintenance, a new spare is set to arrive in the following days. In any case there is a lock in the patio area that works perfectly and all doors have a working lock for additional security. I should also point out that this area is very safe.

Verified reviewI must start by saying this location looks way better than the pictures. Clean, Spacious, convenient & safe location. Restaurants, convenience store, bars and the beach are all within walking distance. Property manager was easy to reach when I had concerns. Very smooth self checkin.
Not much of a dislike just the bed & shower stall are smaller than expected. It’s a full size bed was expecting a queen for a 2 person stay. Shower can barely fit 1 person. Just something to be aware of.

Verified reviewThe apartment is very close to the airport, that was convenient since I arrived late and had no car. There is a beach and a big supermarket in the walking distance. The room was pretty quiet and the bed was comfortable. Having a fully equipped kitchen was nice, too.
I didn’t realize that it was an apartment with two bedrooms where the kitchen, dining room and bathroom are shared. I was a bit confused when meeting another person in the property. Also, my bedroom was very small and had only a small roof window. Which is okay for 1 or 2 nights, especially if traveling solo.
Property listing describes this unit as a private room and shared common areas. These are our express suites. It combines a great rate, very well equipped rooms and excellently well located units. We do have larger fully private units available.

The bathroom is tinier than a cruise bathroom.
We offer a very well stocked room at an excellent price point. Shower is small but it does the job. We have had travelers stay with us for more than a month, 0 issues. We do have larger units at a different price point.

I had a bad experience with my room was dirty and no one cleaned it I had to clean it my self! I was out all day so I could not respond back quickly and I hit my head on a tree by the entrance the room smelled like cat piss and the sheets smelled bad like a gym bag head board broken
The cleaning lady had just finished the unid the day the guest arrived. We have evidence of this. We even reached out so we could change the sheets for him as a courtesy. Aside from this there is nothing we can do about the tree and are sad to hear the expectations of the guest weren’t met. We aim to offer the best location at the best price. Regarding service we made sure you got in. We are a bit confused about the staff not being helpfull as we are available via phone, chat and text.

Was not as stated on reservation. No living room, no hot water in shower (called and didn't get fixed) face sink was not emptying properly so when you brush your teeth, you have all the waste staring you for a good 5 mins. Walk path to unit at the back of a unfinished house was not lit do you need a flashlight to get to your unit at night. The lights outside do not come on at night so again flashlight...I would put the outside light on before I leave but its turned off so I had to walk in the dark on my last night the new guests was lighting up the room with Marijuana, I didn't call the management for fear of me and my sister's safety.
We offer a clean and very well-stocked room at an amazing price. All property descriptions are in order. No living room here. The hot water mentioned was checked immediately it was working. The sink was not reported before, it was resolved immediately during your stay. The “unfinished” house will be our new unit soon, independent from your entrance. As for the outdoor lights, the front security light is under maintenance, but all the rear lights are in working order. The other guest you claim were smoking in the room. When we detailed the room he left the room in perfect shape, he was there for more than a week and had no issues at all. I wish you had called us like you called before. This is a very safe set up, never have we had any issues. We take very seriously any coment, or message we receive, we take good care of our guests.

Verified reviewThe value for money is exceptional. For about the price you would pay at most hostels for a bed with 6-8 people per room, here you get your own private room and only have to share common spaces with one other occupant. It was clean, comfortable and in good condition. Short walk to beach, restaurants and grocery store. I was even greeted at the door by a very friendly cat.
It is close to the highway so there was some noise in the common areas, but in the room itself it was quieter and it did not impact my sleep. Water pressure in the shower was a little low.

Think twice before staying here. First. When we arrived after 3pm the room was not cleaned. I send 3 emails and made 3 calls. The automatic answering machine kept saying: ‘we are busy assisting other customers’. Really?? Some 3 hours later the room got cleaned. And yes, luckily the owner apologised. Secondly, the bathroom is very, very small. You have to share that and the kitchen with THE only other customer. This guy was cooking ar 2 am. So, you can have bad luck here. Third reason to not bool here: we found MOLD on the old coffee in the coffee machine. After reporting it, the guy cleaned it. No apologies this time. So: instead of the 9 where the owner advertises with (a score from years ago) it is more a 6. Just go elsewhere is my advice.

We have some strict systems in place to catch any issue. We double check things; we check messages and emails at various intervals and can spot a situation or request on a moment’s notice. This is why the room not being ready was resolved quickly. The mold in kitchen is a stretch, being tragic about a coffee filter left behind simply does not sit well at all. Yes, it was an oversight, fortunately it’s not a thing, the coffee vessel was spotless and shiny, the cleaners thought it was unused therefore moved on as you were there during the cleaning. As soon as it was reported It was removed, cleaned and returned, no apologies were delivered at this time. Regarding the small bathroom, this is our small guest house. We have larger fully private suites available. As for the old score card… yes that’s the old one because it fits in the frame small frame, but we have more recent ones but in large format. Fortunately, it was a short visit.

Good for a night, good for a short or long stay. We offer clean and very well stocked rooms with all the amenities you can think of in the middle of isla verde.
