How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Difficult to find due to lack of road signs, challenging to get door open (we're old dinosaurs) & a noisy rooster. It would have made it a lot easier to have been able to talk to the host directly.

Thank you for your feedback. I was surprised to read your comment. I assure you that all the photos in the listing are genuine and accurately depict the nearby beaches. Our description specifies that the apartment is within walking distance to the beach, which is indeed less than a 5-minute walk from the balcony.

Verified reviewThe apartment was not air conditioned as stated in the description. There was one small unit in the bedroom but it was too small to cool the whole house. So the rest of the house was too hot to enjoy. There is no table or chairs. There is only a bar with stools. There were 4 roosters living in the yard and they made a lot of noise from about 3AM to 9 AM. We could not get a good nights sleep.

Verified reviewThe location was awesome. Being able to walk to the beach was great. This was a low cost hotel alternative/ so you get what you pay for.
The complex and apartment were alright. If you aren’t planning to hangout a lot on the apartment it will do. The beach was great- we walked to Playa Escondida (about a 20 minute walk from apartment). It was well worth the walk. We were able to see a lot of good fish, snorkeling right from the beach. Back to the apartment- stove does not ignite on its own- there is a lighter available. Not enough fitted sheets and blankets for use of the 2 cots (only 1 is really functional). The cot situation definitely was entertaining. We needed up putting one of the cot mattresses on the couch/futon. If you are the least bit tall the cots and futon will not work for you. And the front room only has a fan so it gets really warm fast in that room. I don’t mind the heat so I slept there with one of my daughters. Overall, this place was okay- as long as you have low expectations you will be fine. I did communicate with the host, who was very receptive and said we could leave. The offer to leave did not mention a full refund, so since we only were staying 2 nights we decided to just deal with the lesser accommodations. Another humorous thing was that there is a pay to use washer and dryer on site, however there is no way to make change beyond the 24 hour gas station a few minutes drive away. The dryer really only does super hot so be careful when drying synthetic clothing. This place is okay definitely not the super high ratings it seems to receive,

Regarding the apartment, we apologize for the inconveniences you experienced. To clarify, the apartment is set up to accommodate four people: two in the queen bed, one on the folding bed, and one on the sofa bed. We also provide an extra folding bed as an option. Additionally, the stove model does not ignite on its own, which is why a lighter is provided for guests' convenience. We’re also working on improving the cooling in the front room and ensuring all necessary bedding is available for our guests. For the washer and dryer, we’ll explore ways to provide better access to coin exchange to make the process more convenient for our guests. We are sorry that your stay didn’t fully meet your expectations, and we appreciate your understanding and flexibility. We always strive to provide a better experience for our guests and will continue making improvements based on your feedback. Verified reviewProximity to Seven Seas Beach. Portable chairs, beach towels, Guide book, and ice chest for guests to use. Owner responsive and helpful. Everything was quite clean.
The view of gravel parking and the house next door was disappointing. I knew beforehand that it was not on the beach. Low-budget stove seemed a bit unsafe: I personally had trouble balancing hot pots on the thin burner grates; no potholders. (The mechanical function of the stove seemed perfectly fine.) All plastic bowls, plates, cups.
Greetings Mrs. Selena. I am very sorry for the confusion but nowhere say that there is a view from the apartment but it does say that you are less than 5 minutes walking to the beach. And as far as the stove is concerned, it feels unsafe for you but the stove meets the requirements that the state demands and in addition we have a smoke detector and a gas detector
