How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe had such a great stay at Good Bye Lenin Hostel! The atmosphere is exactly what you want in a hostel — cozy, friendly, and full of good vibes. The staff were super welcoming and helpful from the moment We arrived. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The common areas were chill and inviting — perfect for meeting other travelers or just relaxing after a day out. Location-wise, it’s perfect and We really appreciated how safe and secure the hostel felt too. Would 100% stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed, sociable, and well-run place to stay!

Verified reviewReally cozy hostel vibes that perfectly accompanied our hiking trip to the Tatras. We really enjoyed the different themed nights, particularly the BBQ one. Thanks to the staff for organising! And for the cats too for being such perfect companions. Probably the cleanest hostel toilets I've experienced too - I was pleasantly surprised.
The vibes really differed across the 5 nights I was there, so its really a hit or miss. Some nights it got really noisy, or the conversation got a bit weird, but that's not the fault of the hostel. Wish they enforced quiet hours more strictly though, since the rooms are right next to the common area.

Verified reviewAmazing volunteers, great location near the national park, cool nightly events/dinners, nice lounge area and all round good vibes in the hostel
Kitchen and bathroom facilities are small for the number of guests but it works if you’re patient and not too fussy

Verified reviewAmazing hostel! Very cozy place with great atmosphere and friendly and helpful staff. We felt very welcome there. It's a small hostel where you can easily get to know people and find people to hang out with. It's a great location for hiking trails.

Verified reviewUnique priceless atmosphere. I came for accommodation and I got a sense of community. So needed these days. Also I love the location, common space, evening activities, cats, goat and the team.
Rooms could be a little cleaner 🫣 Also it would be nice to refurbish some items such as mattress covers.

Verified reviewGood Bye Lenin was one of my favourite downtime (while still social) hostels I stayed at during my trip - comparable to Balmer’s Interlaken (but less party vibe) and Sandino (Berlin). It really felt like a family, with all staff super welcoming and helpful. This is the place to be if you’re coming to Zakopane.
The wi-fi connection was pretty poor - not great for anybody trying to work remotely at the hostel.

Verified reviewIt was a little hard to find due to construction in the area. The host was great! We had booked a 4-bedroom unit with a bath and got a 6-bedroom room that was already occupied. It was fine because we were only staying for one night, but we would have loved to stay longer, the location, and views were beautiful.
Really, nothing. The crew was great, the beds were super comfy, but it was just a quick stop for us.

Verified reviewLovely staff, good bathrooms, well equipped kitchen, loads of information, great atmosphere! The breakfast was nice and simple - great to start your day. Free coffee, tea all day. The house is such a cute building itself with a lovely outside area - you know you’re in the mountains! Ah I’ve not mentioned this yet - great location! 5 minutes from one of the park’s entrances (bear in mind there’s many of them and the TPN is large, to get to Morskie Oko you gotta take the mini bus that stops literally 5 mins away from the hostel).
Hmmm… the kitchen is quite small but there’s hardly anything one can do about it.

Verified reviewThe staff were extremely helpful. They were mostly volunteers from Poland and abroad who all brought their own charm to the stay.
Creaky building

Verified reviewLots of good things about this hostel. Nice social atmosphere. Cozy inside. The staff were helpful, it's close to some trails, property is nice. Having checkout at 12 is great, and it overall feels like a place where the owners care a lot about the guest experience and aren't trying to squeeze money out of you which is very appreciated. Some sort of activity every night as well.
There's a lot of small things that could be done that would make a big improvement. Curtains for the bed and plugs for each bed would help a lot There's nowhere you can have much privacy. The bathrooms aren't clean, they should be cleaned multiple times a day and the floor towels need to be changed multiple times a day with the amount of people staying here. There's also not enough bathrooms but that's harder to fix. Also, this hostel doesn't brand itself as a party hostel so I was surprised that 2/3 nights there there was a lot of noise outside the rooms. I think enforcing quiet hours after 11 would be nice as we're in a hiking town where lots of people will want to wake up early to hike. I think putting a door on the living room and telling people to go in there or even outside on the property in the night would be good. It was very loud when trying to sleep (with earplugs) because people would be up late in the kitchen til 1am +. Last thing which is very small is I think it's weird to have to put the sheets and everything on the bed yourself. And the sheets didn't really fit. I did have a good time here overall but not sure if I would come again for these reasons. I'd recommend it for people that don't like to go hiking early.

Verified reviewThe hostel is such an experience in itself, very cosy especially the living room , the host Ania is so lovely and nice , the community spirit of the place is so high and makes you wanna stay longer
The rooms are quite small and the bunk beds are old no curtains for beds which leaves little to no privacy Some of the guests do not respect the quite times Too many Australians/Americans ( just kidding but true tho )
