This review is waaaaay overdue. My girl friends and I stayed there last July and we had the BEST experience. The beds were very comfy. The room was cold (a big plus because it was hot outside). The area was so nice. Very near the beach. Just a few minutes walk. And so close to the good restos too. The staff were all SO great! I forgot the name of the lady at the front desk but she’s the sweetest! We asked to check out late because I went freediving the same day we had to leave but they were all sooo cool about it. We even had a little chitchat. Also called a ride for us back to the town proper at a very affordable rate. I could write more but this is getting long. All in all, it was a really good stay and I, for one, would stay at Wild Monkeys again when I’m back in Moalboal.

Just the plants in the bathroom. Although the bathroom is super clean, the plants in the bathroom make it hard a bit to take a shower but its not that big a deal. I just hope they trim some of them hehe

Lovely location. Friendly staff. Clean, nice bathrooms, a chilled out hangout space with good coffee. Everything works. Couldn’t have asked for more from a hostel.

The hostel is located really close to the main road with all the restaurants and shops and yet quiet. The staff is super nice. The private room is spacious, clean and equipped with AC and furniture to hang up your things.

The private bathroom (located next door) needs severe renovation. It is so humid, the walls ar dripping wet. I didn't leave any of my stuff in it. The shower wall and head are very rosty due to the humidity and need to be replaced. However, the shared showers and toilets seemed very clean and nice. Not a very social hostel.

Really well finished and well thought-out. I like that the bunk beds were individual concrete “cubbies” so there is no rattling or rustling from the bed frame or mattress when people get in and out of the bed. Quiet residential area so no street noise and didn’t hear roosters from the room. Front desk staff were so nice and helpful

The dorm has two doors with smart locks and they do beep when people are punching the code in to get in the room, can be disruptive when people get in very late. The plants in the shower are a fun idea but not very practical

Close to pangsama beach. Staff was extremely friendly, such as guiding me to social events near Chef Mau etc. Good faciliites in the counter, such as food, drinks, rental snorkel, water bag etc. Just ask and you shall receive.

The plants in the shower were a bit too close for comfort.... maybe can have smaller plants if you want to give a "jungle feel

Best hostel I have stayed at in regards to cleanliness and comfort of the beds and access to chargers etc. Showers were beautiful with plants. Close enough to town, and quiet area.

This was easily the best hostel I’ve stayed at in South East Asia. The staff are amazing, the rooms are sooo clean and modern. The showers are the biggest win! Great location right in the centre of everything. Also a 5 minute walk to the sardine run!

Strong ac, nice and clean dormitory, and very welcoming staff.

There is a weird smell at the sink area where the toilet and shower is. I think it comes from the floor or the mop maybe. Also, it can be quite hot at the sofa area during day and night, mainly because it is hard for the wind to come through due to the enclosed perimeter. Maybe adding extra fans would help.

The proximity to town was excellent just walk down. Also the staff were friendly and helpful. They organised tours for us and the private room and bathroom were very clean and spacious.

Although we did have a private bathroom, it was on the outside of the actual room. But very close. And it was still very clean and spacious. Just needed to be in a public area to get to it. So needed to pop clothes on during the night.

Best hostel I’ve stayed in in Philippines, it’s not that social however either were a lot of hostels around moalboal and this was by far the best!! It was stunning and the staff were so helpful right down to always knowing your name. Only thing was when I asked about cayoneering they said it was 2300 however the hostel opposite charges 2100 and both hostels go together so I booked it there?!

This place is so nice! The dorm beds are expensive for the Philippines but they are the most comfortable capsule beds I've ever stayed in. The air conditioning is DEFINITELY functioning. I stayed in the 4-bed dorm room for a few nights and then extended one night in the 12-bed dorm and both were very comfortable - the bed curtains are amazing. The common area is very clean and well-decorated. Not much of a social atmosphere when I stayed there, but I was somewhat keeping to myself for the most part anyways. The bathrooms were kept very clean and there were a lot of racks for drying clothes/swimsuits. The location was amazing--a short walk down a side-path from the main road that eliminated a majority of the street noise from motorbikes/cars, which is a big problem in Moalboal. More expensive than the surrounding hostels and felt expensive for a dorm, but it was definitely the nicest hostel I stayed at in the Visayas.

The showers were filled with plants and one of them became somewhat of a breeding grounds for mosquitoes. Lots of mosquitoes outside in the common areas, and they love me so I suffered. Wish they had a refrigerator for guests to keep leftovers since they don't have a kitchen. Backpacks have to be kept outside of the room in lockers which is a best inconvenient, but I was actually okay with it in the end since it cuts down on mess in the rooms and eliminates noise from people making a racket at night or in the morning packing up, so it's a somewhat smart design choice. Would not book the canyoneering through them because it is a 20-25% markup over the price you can get on the street.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and I got to know them a bit. The showers were the most beautiful I have seen! The location was good, close to everything yet quiet.

Nothing really, except that the area is very touristy.

It’s a rather small hostel. Eventho it was fully booked it was really quiet the whole time. Staff was exceptionally attentive and helpful! They accomodated any request immediately and it was spotlessly clean throughout my whole stay of 6 nights.

You can definitely hear the digital locks if you are a light sleeper. Maybe the accoustic feedback could be switched off?!
