Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe beds were uncomfortable, the rooms were not cleaned daily, there were a lot of rules which restricted our time together as a family, the pool in front of our room was being cleaned and we could not swim (even though we paid extra money for a pool access room), most restaurants were closed leaving limited dining options.
It was a great property in a nice location.

Love the quiet and peaceful setup. The pools were refreshing and easy to access. Breakfast was amazing, with lots of delicious options! Plus, the service of your wonderful staff is too notch. They were always courteous and friendly. Plus, when I needed a phone charger, they gave me one at no charge to borrow. We had a wonderful time. Thank you!

Japan- As many mentioned in their reviews, the food at the hotel was average and relatively expensive. - First night at the hotel I noticed a cockroach in the bathroom. After I told about it, staff came and sprayed the tiles. Did not see insects again, but not a good experience. - Even though I mentioned that the hotel beach is good for snorkelling, it's below average for swimming: small, rocky, shallow - Location: quite far from everything. ~40min by motorbike from Cebu. I guess hard to pick a good location in Philippines if you want to see a bunch of places. The logistics are complicated. - Towel station quite far from the beach - I found it strange that the hotel won't let the motorbike drivers in the property, so I would have to walk by foot out of the gate. Similarly, when I would come back I get questioned by security about whether I live here and what's my room number. It made me uncomfortable. I understand that it's to prevent outsiders from getting in, but I felt like I have to justify myself - Apparently from the 1-st of February there's some fee for bringing in food ordered outside from the hotel (like Grab services). I find this strange and strict.
- The hotel looked nice, especially the big pool in the middle; the buildings seem quite new - Free laundry was a great addition! - Towels were nice - Having lots of complimentary water in the room was great - Cocktails at the restaurant were not watered down, a fair alcohol percentage - Snorkelling at the hotel beach was good, could see many fishes! - The snorkelling tour from the hotel was worth it and a reasonable price (I think even cheaper than booking something similar with popular tour providers)

United KingdomOnce the booking was made , the resort would send you numerous of rules to follow and if not followed , they will ask you to choose another resort. So you better listen !
We had an issue checking in, making us wait in non air con lobby for 15 min without telling us the reason then another 10 minutes for a manager communicated us the issue and warned if the issue not fixed, we would have to pay for the whole stay despite payment was confirmed online. The next day, the receptionist called us at 9:40 am to chase us about the issue while there was nothing more we could do as we had shown all booking agent references and updates to the manager the night before. It was the admin. between the booking agent and the hotel. I was frustrated to be waken up by a hasty voice of a receptionist’s call during holiday. Then was offered a free use of spa facility for the day. But we didn’t need it as we paid for 2 therapy sessions in the spa anyway. The massage service was great and the therapists were paying attention to details. There were mosquitoes inside the room and throughout resort so we had to use repellent. The WiFi inside the room was not strong, would disconnect every 10 minutes. There were only 3 restaurants to choose from on Wednesday. An American diner or Fuji or the buffet place. The taste of Asian fusion cuisine from Fuji was good. There was only 1 cafe where it offered milk coffee but it opened only from 11am. But in all fairness, the resort was clean and well maintained. We had a room with lagoon view and it was big with 4 postered king size comfortable bed and quiet air con. Great for family and there were activities to do around. But the resort looked a little bit dated, the private beach was small and sea level was shallow in the morning. The sea was clean and with some fish but rocky and no corals. There was nothing outside the resort, need to pay extra money just to request taxi and shuttle if go anywhere outside. Once we walked out of the resort, we were hassled and followed by the locals. There were tricycles waiting near the public beach but drivers looked dishonest that would not accept local rate or meter.

A Relaxing and Scenic Stay at Plantation Bay Resort and Spa Plantation Bay Resort and Spa offers a truly serene getaway that combines breathtaking lagoons, world-class pools, and exceptional hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the resort's unique layout, which revolves around stunning man-made lagoons that blend harmoniously with the natural surroundings. Whether you prefer swimming, kayaking, or simply lounging by the water, there’s something for everyone. The expansive pools are equally remarkable, perfect for both relaxation and family fun. The accommodations were spacious, well-appointed, and designed to make you feel at home. The rooms reflect a classic colonial aesthetic, with modern amenities to ensure comfort and convenience. Our balcony offered gorgeous views of the lagoon, which made for peaceful mornings and magical sunsets. What truly made our stay exceptional was the service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Every request was met with a smile, and the level of care they provided added a special touch to the experience. Their dedication to making each guest feel valued is truly commendable. One highlight of Plantation Bay is the sheer variety of activities available. Whether it’s taking a dip in the lagoon, trying out water sports, or exploring the beautifully landscaped grounds, there’s never a dull moment. For those who want to unwind, the spa offers a range of treatments in a tranquil setting—perfect for anyone seeking relaxation. While the resort provides plenty to keep you entertained, we recommend venturing into the local area in Mactan. It’s safe, affordable, and a wonderful way to experience authentic Filipino culture. From vibrant markets to delicious local eateries, there’s so much to explore just a short ride from the resort. The only downside to our stay was the quality of food and the pricing for drinks.

United StatesLots of rules such as no raised voices, no sound on electronic devices in public areas. I realize it's for the comfort of all guests, but kids having fun in the pool with raised voices shouldn't be an issue. Didn't liked being nickled and dimed for every single thing. (Laundry was $50)
Loved the facilities! Great pools and lots of good options. Free golf cart service throughout the resort. Airport shuttle, concierge, snack and drink store.

United StatesBathroom has old smell and a little dated. When we stepped outside to the veranda it felt like there was a heater right above the ceiling but it got cooler as we stepped a little further though. This is just my two cents….there was a letter to the guests to reserve in advance especially big parties. In the letter, it felt like a diss to an american restaurant chain and at the same time mentioning another american 3 Michelin star restaurant…. I think that part of the letter is totally unnecessary. Just keep it short and simple and you don’t need to criticize another restaurant to make your point just simply ask that a reservation is necessary for big parties because you cook to order, that’s it.
Big space, mostly quite, lots of swimming area and activities to do. Friendly staff
