(1) There's very little sound insulation (against cockerels crowing seemingly-constantly 5am-7am - but this is not a problem if you're diving, because dive boats leave at 6-630am). (2) The private ensuite bathroom is the tiniest I've ever seen, with very low water pressure (probably due to scarcity on the island) (use bucket & dipper for showers!). (3) The free wifi does not reach every room (but you can sit in the common area).

Cheap, centrally-located (adjacent to an ATM and the market square), has air-con, and the staff are very friendly.

Power was out on island for most of our stay making it difficult to see at night and uncomfortable to sleep without AC. This was no fault of hotel but was very disappointing. I would avoid Malapuscua Island until power issue resolved.

The stay was really amazing, we finally stayed 5 nights instead of 3. The cabins are so cute, a bit old but clean. The location is amazing as you are really close to the markets, with really good and well priced food, close to the beach and to the pier. We loved the island ❤️

There was a charge to refill water bottles. The room was very humid and sometimes had an intense smell.

Upon arrival they told us that they were going to move us to another hotel for one night. To which we did not agree because the agreement in the reservation was not fulfilled, luckily after speaking with the owner, they resolved the issue and gave us the correct room. It was a very awkward situation. Very bad WiFi.

Cute little room. Bed comfortable. Staff nice. We had both fan and AC. Location is very central, close to the market, just a 5 min walk to the beach. The rooms are in a little garden. For the price, we are very happy with what we got!

The place itself seemed okay in the photos. When I arrived the room seemed cleaned but after careful inspection I could see that the floor was dirty and the whole place smelled damp. During my last night I found that under my bed I had a big rat.. I tried to call someone to assist me to put the rat out and there was no one after 11pm there to assist me. I couldn’t expel the rat from the room so I didn’t sleep the whole night. When was morning time I left and there was no one in the reception area around 10am. The worse experience avoid this place at all cost.

On the second night, I woke up because something was climbing across my body. After I swept it off from me and switched on the lights, I found it was a huge cockroach. Then we tried to sleep back, which was not too easy as my girlfriend had cockroach phobia. After I switched off the lights, we heard noise again. When I switched on the lights again, there was another big cockroach on the ceiling. After killing it, we asked for a new room, but they couldn't provide it, so we got an insect spray from the receptionist. After using the spray, a lot more aunts, small and big cockroaches, and other insects climbed out from the walls and ceiling. I spent more than 3 hours cleaning, and then we tried to sleep back, but it was a horrible experience. My girlfriend was totally freaked out, and we were exhausted. In the morning we woke up with even more insects and aunts in the room. For the next night we got another room, the receptionist guaranteed that there will be no cockroaches because they haven't experienced it in that room earlier (only in the rest of the rooms). Btw the accommodation offers AC, but 2 nights out of 4, we didn't have electricity, so we couldn't use them, and these small bungalows can be really hot without a fan or AC. So I recommend choosing other types of accommodations made by brick or stone which at least can cool down a little bit at night. Ofc we asked for a refund, but we didn't get any.

The water in the bathroom doesn't drain after your shower. You have to stand in the puddle while brushing your teeth! They offer coffee sticks but no cream/milk to go with it.

The location was the only good thing. Very close to the food market about 30 meter walk. Lynlyn the reception/admin - was also attentive and helpful. She organized our transport from Maya port to Cebu City.
