Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was supposed to be a pool, but it was dirty, seemingly closed without any saying so. The rooms were super basic. Mattress was very springy and when one moves the whole bed moves a lot which woke me frequently.
The place is conveniently located in front of a beach. Nobody really uses that beach for sunbathing or swimming as there are always tons of boats in front, but is convenient for departure to scuba diving trips. The staff was very nice.

NetherlandsThe internet really doesn't work, if you need it just buy a sim card beforehand. The water in the showerhead is also very thin and the bedroom is a bit cramped.
We liked the location very much, super central, close to every dive center and they have a nice restaurant and good Pizza.

NetherlandsWe missed a table in our room between the beds. There were just two large beds. No wifi in the room. Aircon very noisy. There is a lot of maintanance to do if you walk past to the back rooms, a lot of rubbish under the pool and broken poolbeds.
Nice beds in the room, hot water and a pool. Wonderful food and drinks in the restaurant. Staff helpfull and friendly

AustraliaPretty expensive restaurant (for the island standards) and not the best breakfast ever
Nice hotel in a super centered position, really close to every restaurant and to the most famous diving center. Room furniture is really basic, but it has everything you need for your staying. Staff really nice and does its best to meet your needs! I would come back.

ThailandRooms very basic but fine for the money and bed was comfortable. Small shower room but actually the shower was nice and hot despite being old decor. However , the light bulb seemed to glow in the dark whenever I switched the lights off so I found this really annoying to sleep. The second night it not only glowed but flashed like a disco light for the entire night and I was scared to unsee it in case it still had a flow of electricity. I told the staff the next day who said that there was someone around all night so perhaps my mistake thinking there would be no one to assist at 3am ! They checked the bulb but added up unscrewing it completely, which was but meant I had no light apart from the bathroom one. Internet was fine downstairs in the restaurant but not connecting in the room upstairs.
Location on the beach was really good and right next to the dive center I had booked, plus a few doors down from a really amazing reggae cafe that did the best vegetarian and vegan food I’ve ever eaten, and I’m not even vegetarian but ate there every night !

The staff was so nice and the food was absolutely delicious! You can play pool and everything you need during your stay in Malapascua is close to the resort, like dive shops, restaurants and bars.

JapanThis is one of the most frustrating places that I've ever stayed. I rated it a 5, but it could easily be an 8. It seems like the staff and management have given up on it and don't want to put the effort into bringing it up to standard. Some examples are below, but it's not a complete list. Cleanliness: The balcony wasn't clean when we arrived. The floor was covered in sand and a pile of some girl's hair. We had to get a broom and sweep it ourselves. There was also a huge spider web on the balcony with a 4-5cm spider living on it. Three times we put out the notice on the door knob asking for a room cleaning, and it wasn't cleaned. They do not clean the rooms on their own and do not check for the door knob thing that they supply. The 3 times our room was cleaned in the 6 nights we stayed there we had to find a staff member and ask them to clean it for us. Facilities: There is no safe storage provided, so you have to leave your items vulnerable in the room or take them with you. Some rooms had a clothesline outside, but ours didn't and we had to ask for one. There is no cup in the bathroom for toothbrushes. There is no towel rack in the room despite having plenty of wall space to add one. The water pressure in the shower is barely useable. The lock for the balcony door doesn't have a key provided, so we had to push the wardrobe in front of it when we left and move it away again when we get back like it's an old Resident Evil game. The bathroom window doesn't have a screen, so you can open it for ventilation but then bugs can get in. No mat was provided to wipe the sand off of our feet at the entrance. No garbage can was provided for the room except for the toilet paper bin which comes with a tiny little plastic bag in it, wasting most of its capacity. The light on the balcony is broken.
Excellent location, maybe one of the best locations for a resort on Malapascua. Wi-Fi was good when outside, but doesn't make it through the room walls. Pizza at the restaurant is good, but it's only available at dinner time.

AustraliaRooms not huge but certainly good value for money. Sometimes a bit noisy but never super late into the night.
Very friendly staff, the owner organised lots of trips for us and gave us a good price on diving. Good location, right on the beach, plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Pizza at their restaurant was a nice change.

PhilippinesFirst room was like a storage cupboard and the aircon didn't work. Balcony was unswept and dirty. Swimming pool was totally disgusting and a sunlounger had been thrown in the spa and never retrieved. Surrounding patio was filthy, and no shade at all for the 3 remaining sunloungers.
The bartender Heidi was very nice. The bar was reasonable.
