Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe only downside is there isn't a lot of public transportation on the island so either rent a motorbike from them for 400 pesos or plan on paying a bit more for a tricycle ride than normal. The host will arrange a ride for you if needed. We made it work for our adventures and then for food we just walked a few minutes down the road to some small stores or to Pariso cave which has a cafe. DJs only cooks from like 8 to 11am so after that you are on your own to find some food. Still a great place!
Great place for couples to relax take in the island vibe and chill at the beach. The host is very kind and helpful even when the island has a power outage he ran a generator for fans and water. They cook a good breakfast as well!

United KingdomApart from the occasional brown-out all was as or better than expected,
Excellent cooked breakfast choices offered along with great coffee and fruit options. The owners could not have been more friendly and helpful during our stay, offering scooters for rent and advice on where to go and what to see. Also arranged pick-up & drop-off to the seaport. Located in peaceful and natural surroundings. Would happily return again. Thank you David & Juvey for the warm welcome and relaxing stay.

WOW! this was one of the best places we have ever stayed. Dave was so welcoming, attentive, informative and fun and we had an absolute blast. We felt well cared for, he picked us up and dropped us at the port and talked us through all the best places on the island. We will definitely be coming back to the Camotes- we were very sad to miss Juvy.

NetherlandsBe aware that the location is not at a beach, bit you can easily walk into the sea for a swim in clear waters or enjoy watching the sunset. There is no restaurant for lunch/dinner, which means you have to plan your meals elsewhere or take your own food.
The personal touch of David and Juvy makes this a special place. They help you to get to know the right spots on the islands and to get around, with Britisch-Philippino swag. Since it's a nice but bit secluded location, I strongly advice to have your own wheels (which you can rent at the resort), driving around the islands is a lot of fun. The breakfast is brilliant and the coffee carefully calibrated by David. The rooms are well build and the outside bathroom is a nice feature. We stayed here for 6 nights and enjoyed everyone of them.

FinlandDavid met us at the port, told us about the island and their place. He is extremely friendly and caring! So is his wife Juvy. David's staff also includes 4 lovely dogs! The place was clean and well-kept, the yard is green and paradise-like. Even the sand that was blown away by the typhoon from the beach is already returning. Although there is no restaurant on site, David can give you good suggestions and even give you a ride to the restaurant if needed. There is a lot of choice for breakfast! Scooters are for rent in good price.

FranceAmazing host, they come to pick you up, they show you around and introduce you to the life of the island. The rooms are better than in the pictures. Unfortunately the beach has been shored away lately, but the view of the sea from the garden is nice. I stayed longer than 10 days at the end. You need a scooter or a car, as for today they don’t have a restaurant service. But the breakfast and coffee are really good.

This place is the best. This felt like a home from home and David is a fantastic host. Made sure we had everything we needed, gave us all the tips for the island. Picked us up and dropped off at the port. Lovely accommodation and a beach front complete with hammocks! A great breakfast as well. PhilippinesNot recommended if you can't drive a motorcycle as it's quite remote. I don't know how to drive a motorbike but Juvy was kind enough to take me around even if it's not usually part of their services. But she was considering becoming a certified tour guide. Go for it, Juvy! ☺️
I always check reviews before booking a place. This resort had an excellent score and now I know why. Dave and Juvy are wonderful hosts. Dave will pick you up from the port and will take you there again when your stay has ended. The all-day breakfast is yummy and filling. They gave us fresh fruits from their place. They had lots of animals so it's like living on a farm by the beach. When people are kind to animals, you know they're good people. Thanks for a lovely stay and will definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place in Camotes.

United KingdomBit far from the main town bit with the scooter it's quite a pleasant drive anyway
David is a great host, came pick me up at the ferry and allowed me for an early check in. The facilities are great, lovely room just a few steps from the sea, the open air shower in the ensuite room is a great touch to immerse yourself in the greenery of the resort. Super easy to rent a scooter to explore the island.

I like the place because they have a beach front with a beautiful sunset. They serve great breafast with reasonable price. I will definitely stay again if I have a chance to go back to Camotes Island. Thanks!

AustriaI stayed at DJ's Beach Resort with my partner for only three nights, but it felt like at least a week, all thanks to David, our host. David picked us up at the port in the morning as we arrived (9:45 AM), and we could immediately check into our room. The room is so well-designed: very bright, and oh god, we loved the shower! You shower among banana trees and other plants, feeling like you're in an oasis. The room was also very clean, and we were provided with both bath and beach towels. Girls, note that there is no hairdryer in the room, which was never a problem for me as hair dries so quickly here. But I'm sure if you ask David for one, he would find it. Another huge advantage was that David supplied us with a scooter (you need one to travel around). He also gave us amazing tips on where to eat and what to do. We managed to do so much and didn't forget to relax. The breakfast was great - my partner and I were full until the evening. We were also able to find different drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) in the fridge in a common area. A small tip from us: book via AirBnb to get the breakfast for free. Our last day was a bit chaotic, as we almost missed the last ferry from the island, but David rescued us again! Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would definitely come back again. David, thank you for everything! Our experience on the Camotes Islands wouldn't have been the same without you.

United StatesI understand they're working on a dinner menu. This will help a lot.
We had a superb experience staying at DJ's. David and Juvy are the best hosts ever, like ever. A great pleasure to have had their acquaintance. We felt more like part of a family. The place boasts a secluded beach with calm waters. Lovely spot to spend the day and just chill. We couldn't get enough of that DJ breakfast. Delicious! Got me through the day til dinner time no problem. And that barako coffee, wow. We loved DJ's so much we extended our stay. This place is HIGHLY recommended!
