Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandMy biggest gripe is that, once again, staff didn't take an imprint of my card when I checked in, so that (once again) when I went to charge a meal to my room I was told I couldn't, and had to traipse down to the front desk to arrange it. I have stayed in the hotel probably half a dozen times in the last 12-18 months and this has happened probably half the time. It should be a standard part of check-in routine, as in every other hotel in the world.
Location is superb

New CaledoniaA bit disappointed by the restaurant, decent quality but not especially tasty. The pool was closed and I was not advised beforehand. Would have loved a swim to unwind after a long day of work.
Loved the level of service. The room was also very good.

CanadaThe carpet in the hallways and the room is dirty with Betel nut. You should forbid customer to chew betel nuts in the hotel. In the lobby, chairs are needed closer to the door, so we can better view if our drivers are coming to pick us up.
The staff are really nice at the dining room and the chef is often going around talking of the customers. The location is beautiful on top of the hill. Great view.

CanadaThe carpets in the hallway are dirty with betel nut juice and the smell is bad. They are renovating, so hopefully, they will choose flooring that can be easily cleaned. In the lobby, there are no chairs close to the doors to allow us to wait for our transport.
The personnel is super friendly and helpful. The dining staff are very helpful and nice. On some nights, they have different style of food such as Asian, Seafood and BBQ nights. When you come for many days, it's an appreciated feature.

FijiFood at restaurant was not exceptional. Given one cannot go anywhere without security and dependent upon the restaurant food at night, variety was an issue. I am vegetarian, and had stated my choice, yet the range was poor.

AustraliaI stayed in a sea view fully self contained unit. I stayed here Friday afternoon to Monday morning. Although I wanted so badly to have an amazing time here there was a couple things that put me off. - DELAYED CHECK IN TIME: When I checked in at 1:55. I was told my room wasn’t ready yet (Check in is at 2pm) I was told I had to wait because my room was still being cleaned. 50 minutes passed by and then I was called as my room was ready. - ROOM WAS NOT CLEANED TO A HOTEL STANDARD: My room had fresh linens and towels and looked clean at a quick glance but it seemed just a surface level clean. The walls could do with a good clean, there was so many scuff marks water marks that were easily cleaned with some wipes I had on me and couldn’t hurt for the upholstery to all be steam cleaned. The light switches, door handles were not wiped down, and the bathroom sink even had some toothpaste streaks in the sink and also some hairs on the floor. I understand some of these apartments are used for long term stay but when you pay $690 AUD / K1728 for a room like this for a 3 night stay you expect to walk into a somewhat spotless. - FEELING UNSAFE/ GUEST COURTESY The next day the building was being pressure washed. I was inside my room while a tinted window was being pressure washed (I was not told/given notice by staff but I could hear and see this) The windows were not sealed and some water came into my room. I called the front desk to let them know that some water had leaked into my room and this may be happening to other rooms. The receptionist asked if I wanted someone sent up and I said no it’s a small amount of water and I’m just notifying you. After this I had a nap in the bedroom and woke up and went outside to get a glass of water to A MAN ON MY BALCONY, WASHING THE OUTSIDE BALCONY DOORS.
All staff were very warm and welcoming. The Lobby and Restaurant were clean and well presented. I had the breakfast buffet all 3 mornings I stayed there and that was lovely, particularly the fresh fruits and staff came around to take everyone’s coffee order. I also ordered room service twice and it always came quickly. The food here was really good :) I had a sea view room and the views were amazing as well and air con worked great! Although I barely used it, my room had a huge fridge, washing machine, dish washer. It was a fully contained unit so this is great for long term stay or if you’d like to cook for yourself.

Papua New GuineaNothing not to like except that maybe the little couch cushion cases need to be washed. I guess after so many different guests, the covers tend to soak in people's body odour.
The room was beyond my expectation. I did not realize it was a self-contained type of apartment. If the bathrooms can be checked to ensure there is shower gel in the dispenser prior to guests checking in.
