Windows and door frame not aligned well, so gaps for insects. But stuffed some toilet paper on the openings and didn’t have any problems.

Air conditioning and able to laundry. Comfortable bed. Good restaurant right in front of the property.

The mosquitos! But we bought some repellents. On the first night, we had to fight with the cockroaches in the bathroom, but we bought Raid and it helped. The property has many spaces where the bugs and gekkos get in easily - but gekkos are cute animals. :) We missed having a clean dish sponge, we couldn't find dish soap, and instead of hard soaps, there could be liquid shower gel and shampoo. The lights inside were quite dim. Some of the cutlery wasn't clean, and the inside of the cabinets smelled bad. A kettle and a hair dryer could be useful at the property.

We liked the location, it is next to the Magic Mountain. The property has a washing machine which is very useful. The owners are friendly, they gave us fruits, the papayas were awesome!! We liked the terrace, beautiful view and the crabs on the ground! :) Small restaurants/bars is near, they sell smoothies and uru chips, which are really delicious.

Unfortunately during my 4 nights in the bungalow I had to fight of cockroaches in the bathroom, bedroom and the kitchen. Sadly the accommodation is not sealed of against insects coming in. There are a lot of spaces where they can get in easily.

The location was nice, very close to MAGIC mountain and the sea. I also liked to have a washing machine, a little bike to cycle into town and a basket with fresh local fruit.

Shower ran out of hot water a bit too quick for my liking. Also the bugs can be a bit annoying, but they kind of come with the territory.

Great spot... makes you feel local. Unlike the many expensive privatised beach hotels, who, in my opinion, are ruining the island. They literally claim parts of the beach/coast & say 'this is mine now, you can't come here unless you pay our inflated price$ to stay here'. So if you're a rich piece of $£¢€ who likes paying for your own private piece of land/coastline, come to Moorea, they're making more places for ppl like you. Also thanks for making the world a wor$e place 🤑 Magic Mountain next door, close to the (good paved) road to Opunohu Belvedere & close enough to the activities in the NW corner. Hosts are nice & helpful & you can just visit them up the road if you have any problems.

Very nice place for backpackers. Has a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, a nice terrace to eat on and even 2 bicycles to use. There is also a nice place to take breakfast just 100 m away from the property. The owner was really helpful in modifying our last day date due to a change of plans.

The chickens and mosqitos are no good. Nets infront of windows or doors would not help as the air circulates through openings close to the ceiling.

If you have a regular, no extra height rental, park at the sport hall.

Minor, but the bathroom was a bit dark for my husband to shave.

Very clean and comfortable. They had bicycles available and there were several activities, restaurants and stores close by.

A lot of bugs, lots of things broke/didn’t work (a window fell out of the frame, the fan broke, the sink was blocked, the lighting element on the stove didn’t work etc) and the communication from the host was very very poor (wouldn’t reply to messages for 2-3 days) meaning it was impossible to get any advice on how to fix the problems or answer questions about how things in the place worked. Very frustrating.

Use of bikes, well equipped kitchen and the owners parents were nice when they came round

Basic essentials not provided: Washing up liquid, clean sponge, shampoo, hairdryer.... One of the pillows was very smelly. I didn't appreciate the polyester bedding (in a hot climate!). The place is right next to a track used by terribly noisy quad bikes to access the mountain.

A basket of fresh fruit was offered on arrival. A spacious, roofed deck to eat on. 2 bikes for use

The chalet in Moorea is situated in an excellent location to enjoy the best beaches along the coast or to hike the nearby green mountains and valleys. The local restaurant, Fare Tutava, is very popular and it is an easy walk to nearby grocery stores. The bungalow has all the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay and Valentine & Manea were very helpful and superb hosts.

Would be nice if there would be cattle in kitchen. Ant and flies was annoying and made big discomfort during our staying.

Comunication with owner was complicated because there was no answers from owner when we were on a place. But owner parents were really helpfull and took care about everything what we need and even more.

Affordable vacation home with a number of issues

The home is very new and still has many issues. There is a large hole above the door and smaller ventilation holes under the roof. Both let mosquitoes into the house when the lights are on, so you have to either turn off the lights after 6 or have a fun night. There is a mosquito repellent, but it was not very effective and can't be use in two rooms at once. I would recommend owners to close those holes with mosquito nets. The location is not great. The closest beach is 5km away, so unless you rent a car or a scooter, you'll have to do a lot of walking each day or pay 1500 CFP (12 EUR) for a taxi each way. On the other hand, if you book tours, most tour companies will happily pick you up and drop you off. It would be nice to have a pair of bicycles for this purpose. The host seems to be rather new to hosting people. The person meeting us (Manea) only spoke French, but that was not an issue since we had internet and could translate using Google Translate and they were friendly too. The other person (Nancy) only communicated with us over Booking.com and demanded that we pay the full price on 4th day since Manea needed to leave and wouldn't come back until after we depart. Since they only accept cash, I have explained that we don't have enough cash yet and need someone to bring us to the nearest ATM to get it. We were planning to do so ourselves, but only later during our stay. Nancy said that it's our issue and that we have to find a solution. Ultimately, we have found a solution that worked for both of us, but I wish Nancy was not so confrontational from the start. This is not a great service. There is also a large stadium nearby. Some nights kids were playing there creating quite a bit of noise. But usually, it stops before 9pm or so. On the last day, there was some concert with beautiful music, so it depends on your luck.

We stayed here for 7 nights. This is clearly a new place and the price was comparative low (66360 CFP or 552 Euro for 7 nights). This was the main advantage. The chalet is a small vacation home with most everything that you need: stove, fridge, coffee maker, microwave, living room with a couch, some cupboards, patio with a table, bedroom with a bed and wardrobe, shower and toilet. It was especially nice to be able to eat meals on the patio with a view of the mountains. The magic mountain hike starts right where you live, so that's very convenient. It's quite a bit uphill, but the view is well worth it. There is shop within 15 minute walking distance, where you can buy food and other things for your stay. The house comes with enough cooking equipment, although some specialty equipment, e.g. can opener, may be missing. If you prefer to eat out, there is a restaurant very close that serves breakfast and lunch. They don't serve any dinner and I am not sure where the closest place is, so make sure you pack something to eat for your first night. We ended up being hungry :-). The internet was quite good. Speed is high, although I have experienced some glitches here and there, maybe because the router is located in the nearby house. We were allowed to stay 2 hours after checkout was close at no additional cost.

Location in front of a sports hall with very loud volleyball trainings during weekday evenings somewhere between 6 and 7.30. Not so convenient if you take your evening dinner on the terrace. Quad bikes also produce quite some noise when passing by on their 'safari' to the Magic Mountain. However, all these minor annoyances are beyond the responsibility of the chalet owner. Note: to get here you need a private taxi from the ferry who charges a hefty fee of 4000 francs one way only! There is a public bus to/from the ferry I was told but I have never seen one during my 7 days stay.

Chalet with everything you need for a comforable stay. Wecome fruit basket. Bicycles are free. A scooter is an ideal way of travelling the island
